I know what pushed this kid over the edge. It is the same thing that pushes most liberals over the edge.
Reason and logic.
One can imagine this 18 year old (a demographic that is worshiped by liberals as somehow being the most enlightened) getting involved in a debate with his now dead teacher.
He most certainly thought he was far more intelligent than any stupid high school teacher, particularly if the teacher was not a far left liberal moonbat quoting Noam Chomsky.
One can imagine the spittle lipped fury of the dead perp as the debating coach patiently, using logic, backed this now deceased student into one logical corner after another. I suppose that most teachers would be fairly gentle about this, but in reading reports, it sounds like the dead student was becoming increasingly combatative and abusive, and was raising eyebrows even before being kicked off the debating team.
I have seen this happen in real life repeatedly with liberals as they attempt to engage in civil discourse, only to find they don’t have a leg to stand on. Their logic is a mile wide and a nanometer deep, and as soon as you penetrate it...pfft. The only thing you get out of them after that is “Halliburton is evil” and “No Blood for Oil”.
Our mistake as conservatives is to allow them (as Ann Coulter once put it) to build entire castles and edifices on a foundation of lies, and we end up attacking the fortress instead of the foundation.
Too early to say. There could be a variety of things that triggered this. Plus the arguments between him and his debate coach could have been about anything. De we even know what the coach’s politics are? I would say more likely to the left than right.
