I hope the Pope’s problem (and/or his advisers) is that he, and they, are do not refine the distinction between the essense of Oligarchies ( power effectively rests with a small number of people) the effects of Oligarchies on different political organizations (RC Church, Communism, Nazism, Obamaism Religion, Capitalization). Given the Church’s Oligarchy’s inaction with economics of all types of Political Oligarchies, particularly their own, I can understand their muddling of the definition.
I’m not sure this is exactly where you were heading there, but your comments did make me think of this.
The Church itself was somewhat guilty of what it now takes the U. S. to task over. Early missions in the Americans were there to present the message of Jesus Christ to the local relatively poor people.
Churches were built that were quite opulent when compared to local lifestyles. It was glaring and improper.
I’m not here to dump on the church for it. It’s just an interesting factoid. They U. S. is by and large a Christian nation. He should consider how it compares to Middle Eastern nations, or simply other nations.
