Always liked Peter O’Toole - in many of his movies he looked quite gaunt, but didn’t know it was likely due to his stomach problems. They don’t make ‘em like Peter any more.

I can remember him in movies where he wasn’t the star but his presence was so strong that he sort of took over the scenes.

Maybe the Last of the Swashbucklers. Sort of where Errol Flynn meets Jack Nicholson type of character. The stories he could have (and may actually have) told about Hollywood’s Golden Years.

My favorite movie was: How to Steal a Million (1966)
He was one of the best.

He died shooting the 1979 version of Caligula. It’s just taken 30 years for him to fall. He looked 81 30 years ago. We sure on his birthday?

One of my favorite lines: When asked about O'Toole's performance in Lawrence of Arabia, Noel Coward replied, "If he were any prettier he'd be Florence of Arabia."

Played an actor playing a swashbuckler in "My Favorite Year" one of my all time favorite O'Toole movies.

It shames me to admit this, but I’ve never seen Lawrence of Arabia. I guess it’s always been because I’ve never had a chance to see it on a big screen. I get the feeling Lawrence is one of those films that just isn’t the same experience on tv.
I did see O’Toole in The Last Emperor and many other films, though. I feel fortunate for that. RIP to an acting legend.

Lawrence of Arabia-I also will remember in that role the most. But a very close second: Lord Jim. He was also quite good in Night of the Generals.

Ruling Class will always be my favorite of his. Twisted bit of comedy that one.
