Ambassador Caroline Kennedy is glittering example of the Peter Principle (someone promoted to their level of incompetence) in action. I just hope the Japanese are able to coexist until 2016 with this mouth-breathing cretin (with sincere apologies to cretins). She hasn't any ability in this area and hosting state parties isn't much of a resume enhancement. With the mainland Chinese increasingly more belligerent and the NorKs under Kim Jong-un displaying more of their paranoia, she isn't the best person to be overseeing this ambassadorial posting.
