Saw that on the news report - the cops frogmarched the entire innocent student body outside and patted them all down for weapons. How very .... unsurprising.
I had no idea that Chuck Connors did the very same thing in the Rifleman. Well, with a RIFLE.
Still looks very cool, though.
‘The Rifleman’ was the greatest! Go to youtube, (I’d link you to it but I’m to old and dumb to know how to do it!), type in....’The Rifleman: The Complete Rifleman Massacre’ for all 120 of Lucas’ confirmed kills right in a row complete with some funny on screen commentary and a bell ringer each time a baddy eats lead! (Check out a pre ‘Combat!’-Sgt. Chip Saunders AKA Vic Morrow in the first scene!),If you know how, put up the link so other FReepers can go right to it. Great video if you were/are a ‘Rifleman’ TV show fan!
I heard the perp had a shotgun. Has that been verified? Killing yourself with a shotgun...very strange this story is. Let the disinformation begin!
Cool video! Thanks! I’m sure most people have had one or a few, ‘Don’t Miss’ weekly TV show or shows. One of mine was ‘The Rifleman’. Kevin (Real first name), Connors was quite a guy and professional athlete. Brooklyn and LA Dodger’s hall of Fame Centerfielder Duke Snider even named his son after Kevin! (Check out wikipiedia’s entry on him.) More than a few future stars made it onto ‘The Rifleman’ episodes. The one with already a star and real life gun aficionado Sammy Davis Jr. was particularly good one and the director let Sammy display his remarkable revolver twirling skill in one bit. Damn those old B/W were some fun TV. Hell, nobody knew much different at the time. I believe ‘Bonanza’ was the only western filmed in color during ‘The Rifleman’ era, ‘late fifties-early sixties, but I could be wrong on that.
