Coloring book paints Ted Cruz as folk hero

SAN ANTONIO — In his office in Missouri, coloring book mogul Wayne Bell monitored online websites Thursday that sell his latest hit, the story of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

“At this very moment, we have people in all 50 states looking at this book. Right now, Houston's got 88 and there are 26 people in San Antonio. It's just mind-boggling, really,” Bell said.

Bell's business in St. Louis, Really Big Coloring Books Inc., is printing the “Cruz to the Future” comic coloring activity books as fast as possible to fulfill mounting orders from across the nation.

When the 24-page book was released Dec. 6, the first printing sold out the next day. A second press run began Monday, another sell-out. The third run underway Thursday was another likely sell-out, Bell said.

“I've been in the business 30 years and I've made a lot of coloring books, but once in a while you run across an item and it just skyrockets. That's what this one did. It's No. 1 on Amazon right now in children's activity books globally,” he said by phone.

No precise sales figures were disclosed, but Bell said the books are usually printed in batches of at least 10,000. Copies sell for $4.99 a copy.

The book is typically bought by adults but is designed to appeal to children with what Bell said is nonpartisan,fact-based information about Cruz, U.S. government and his stances on topics including gun rights, free enterprise, abortion and the Affordable Care Act.

Bell said the idea for the book came this year when a noticeable number of computer users searched for coloring books that mentioned Cruz and the tea party, which backs Cruz. The company had a 2010 hit with a coloring book on the tea party, which eclipsed another big seller—its 2008 book on President Barack Obama.

The article goes on to report on the outrage Cruz’s coloring book has caused — especially in Southern CA.

From the same company..... they do NOT seem to favor any particular party.....

Which is what too many might assume.

It says in my excerpt they have done one on Obama, and that it was outsold by one on the Tea Party.

Love this...a “two-fer”.

Boosting Cruz and his beliefs in a fun, entertaining way and at the same time...

Driving the lefty moonbats even more BATTY!
