Conservative activists are hitting back.
More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehners harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committees long-time executive director Paul Teller.
It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today, the statement reads.

When, not if, we win more of the House again in ‘14, Boner, if he doesn’t get primaried and loses, must go as Speaker! He’s a tool for the regime!
Let's Roll!!!
After the TEA party effort, the GOP realized it’s major threat was conservatives.
Boner and Mitch are the Capos of the GOP, ya think?
Spot on.
Well fight back, dammit.
May he receive the same sort of welcome Arlene did.
bump
It’s time to fight back and hit the bastards where it hurts! I’m going to support every Tea Party primary candidate I can until it hurts. We all should. Put these selfish, elitist, statist pigs out to pasture!
Both must be destroyed.
Utterly.
To the last man.
Gillespie is an ex-Democrat. As virtually all GOPe are. That should tell you something.
“The GOP fights its own base with far more vigor than it employs in fighting the Dims.”
I am using that.
I wondered about my decision to leave the GOP last fall and now see that I made an insightful decision.
We are more of an impediment to the GOPe than liberals with whom they have more in common.
How do these idiots possible expect to win without conservative support?
Yes the GOP is this stupid. I’m Furious that they have played into the liberal agenda treating basic conservative ideas as extreme.
Well good luck Norm. I understand where you are coming from. Politics is always about comparative choices - always. Romney would have certainly been better than Obama. Bush was better than Gore. It is a judgment call and I don’t support either extreme of that argument - blind support of lesser of evils or never support lessor of evils.
Our problem is not romney, boehner, dole or whoever. One person or a few people can’t fix this. We need an army of conservatives and we have just a few stragglers. We need to rebuild the republican party from the ground up, seat by seat and consolidate power not splinter power which is how romney got nominated. 3rd pty option makes it worse. There is no quick fix and no matter what - you have to have the votes and we don’t right now.
We have some good conservatives like Cruz, Sessions and need to get more like them elected and grow our numbers. It is that simple and that hard. Blocking and tackling not hail mary’s.
Cheers
Just now figuring that out, guys and gals?
Oops, the zombies are waking up. Pour more juice in the koolaid.
There’s one thing more stupid than voting for liberal Republicans.
The one thing more stupid than doing that is to have allowed Obama to win every state by too many people following your demand that everyone withhold their vote in the past two elections.
McCrazy and Romneycare were nothing but temporary place holders to avoid Obama taking every state even the hardcore Red ones like TEXAS.
We are in a different time now and what is called for now is unique to this time.
I for one will do whatever possible on the side of the warrior conservatives as it appears JB openly declared war by sacking this fine man and attacking Heritage Action and the rest.
Its not a counter attack?
