White House: Obamacare hasn't damaged president's credibility

The White House insisted Wednesday that President Obama’s credibility had not been damaged by the botched rollout of Obamacare, despite a series of recent polls showing his diminished standing with the American public.

"I don't think I agree with that conclusion,” White House deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said of the assertion that fewer Americans trust the president because of broken promises over his signature domestic achievement.

However, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 54 percent of respondents disapproved of the president’s job performance, driven mainly by the problem-plagued rollout of Obamacare.

Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed said Obamacare was the issue that most affected their perceptions of the president. In comparison, one-fourth of respondents identified the economy as driving their views of Obama.

White House officials believe they have turned the corner on the technical problems with healthcare.gov and counter that more Americans will support the law as they become familiar with the benefits of the Affordable Care Act.

More problematic for the White House than issues with the website, however, is the president’s broken promise that all Americans could keep their insurance plans under Obamacare.

Since Obama apologized for his unmet pledge, polls have shown a continual downward trend in whether Americans find him trustworthy.

What he was was one of the worst Presidents in our history.

He put wage and price controls on the nation because he was too dumb to understand economics 101 (he claimed we are all Keynesian's now)

He kept us bogged down four years in Vietnam after getting elected in 1968 to get us out.

He may have had a sense of humor, but he had no character.

This will be my last reply to you. Most people have learned clever ways to pick and choose from the world of information available then cut and paste what others have said or written as their own. Some of us have lived history. It makes it easier to understand. Goodbye and good luck. I suspect you will need it.

Gee, that was a very 'Nixonian' reply.

I gave you simple facts on what Nixon did in office, and your reply is 'Nixon did have a sense of humor' 'you lived history'.

Did Nixon put the nation on wage and price controls?

What you 'lived' doesn't change the facts of history, that Nixon was no Conservative and disgraced the office of the Presidency.

Just because he appointed you to some office doesn't change that fact.
