Add the Senate’s top Republican to the list of those who will oppose the new budget deal, which conservatives are blasting for blowing through the mandated spending caps on government spending next year.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will vote against the deal brokered by Republican Rep. Paul Ryan and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, a knowledgeable source close to the Kentucky Republican told The Daily Caller on Wednesday.

What an embarrassment it is to know that Paul Ryan has been out smarted by one of the dumbest people in congress that won't even take advantage of her free dental plan.

But he will do nothing to prevent it from being brought to a vote. It’s a no-lose situation for him. The Dems control the Senate. They can pass it without him. He’ll vote against it and then go home and try and convince the people of Kentucky he is an actual fiscal conservative. I don’t think they people there are that stupid.

This stinks to high heaven. Ryan builds a menacing castle, so “brave Sir Robin” McConnell can knock it down and claim the realm is again safe.

It would be a tad more convincing if Ryan didn’t work for McConnell.

Actually, the two really are at cross purposes here.

McConnell helped design the sequester...he doesn't want to rescind it.

Paul Ryan stuck his neck out, perhaps unnecessarily, because this bill is never going to see the desk of the Current Occupant now squatting in the Oval Orifice. Oh, something with the same number and title will perhaps get there, but the bill itself will be so hacked up and larded over with special perks and pork barrel projects that it shall not even remotely resemble what Ryan thought he was working on.

Working with Patty Murray anytime is an exercise in Kabuki theater. It is all caricature and posturing, no real quantifiable result shall ever be arrived at.

So will McConnell filibuster the bill to save the sequester he supposedly holds so dear?

There has to be some Human rights protection on record prohibiting the display of such graphically obscene photographic images. I am OFFENDED and will be reporting this to the proper authorities.

That is because this only needs 51 to pass Senate.

Exactly. He'll cobble together the RINOs who are facing reelection in 2014 to "vote" against it, so the safe RINOs who aren't facing reeelction can vote for it. Voila! It passes, and Reid puts a sugar cube in McConnell's mouth.

Actually, I think McConnell is being too smart by half here (and that’s not a compliment).

There’s a legitimate concern that Reid will scuttle the deal, drawing the House into another shutdown that will draw attention away from Obamacare and possibly preserve the Senate Dem majority. McConnell might be trying reverse psychology, opposing the deal to pressure the Dems to support it.

There’s a LOT of political maneuvering going on right now. The key thing from my perspective is that the 2014 election MUST be about Obamacare. Because that’s the one issue that the GOP can ride to a takeover of the Senate.

Which, with the nominee filibuster dead is the only thing that can save us from the last two years of the Obama Administration.

Yes, no, maybe. McConnell and Ryan are nothing if not filled with machinations, and poor ones at that. Their biggest failing is they feel so weak that they do not fight, and defend a bad status quo for fear that if they resist it, things will get worse.

They are in effect, co-dependents of abusive Democrats. They try to be extra sweet to them in hope that they won’t be beaten any more; but at the same time they angrily rail at those who tell them to quit cowering and stand up to the brutes.

I am not mad about this because I figure another shutdown would be counterproductive but I cant help notice how they play the game.

WOOF, WOOF, I am opposed. WOOF, WOOF, I will vote against this”

LOL

Ryan does seem to be vying to take one of the crotch-level seats in Congress, doesn’t he?

What about his 10 year balanced Budget resolution?
