The political director of a prominent Tea Party Super PAC predicts that big punches will be thrown within the GOP as groups like his gear up for primary challenges in the 2014 midterm elections against Republicans whom they view as not conservative enough.
I think the 2014 primary cycle is going to be unlike anything that we've seen, said the Madison Projects Drew Ryun. This is going to be the equivalent of a bar room brawl.
The Republican establishment, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is going head-to-head with the Madison Project in several of the races where the Super PAC is working to replace the incumbent. But Ryun told Top Line they were ready for the fight.
I think it's going to come down to a battle of tactics, Ryun said. They're going to have more money; we're going to have more people. And, basically, who employs the best tactics is going to come out on top of these primaries.
Ryun acknowledged that the Tea Party had fallen short in the past in choosing viable candidates. Its for this reason, he said, that the Madison Project was selective in choosing which candidates to back and pointed to the their support of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as one example.
Ted Cruz being a great example for us in the 2012 cycle where there's a five-way primary in that Texas primary race. We had the opportunity to meet with him, in a sense clarify for the Republican movement. This is our guy; he went on to win, Ryun said.

T or E only a neo-con war monger will win.
Good!
Can we bring the carbon-fiber knuckles?
If the GOP wants to win they better stop fighting the Tea Party and get on board.

They will. It will be ugly, but it will prove to moderates that there is a difference, that not all Republicans are corporate stooges. Reagan earned that distinction. Interestingly, he won exactly such an ugly primary in California in 1964. Fortunately, enough of the Republicans feared the Democrats that they went along. The rest was history as the CAGOP presented a series of watered down conservatives since Reagan, ending with Wilson who was the worst kind of corrupt corporate stooge. Wilson and Gerry Parsky stuck the gleaming knife into the shoulders of Bill Simon, and ran their boy Arnold two years later to ruin what was left of the GOP in California.

I soitantly hope so.
True enough -the GOPe are drunks! Drunk on power and the status quo. The go along to get along crowd. Let the brawls begin!
I’m ready. I may lose a good friend over this but, no more McCains. No more Romneys.
If we fail in 2014, I say let that be the year that THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF AMERICA is formed. To hell with the Democrat Party and the RINO Party. Let’s go for broke. And please don’t tell me that it will only insure Democrat dominance for years to come; hell, that’s what we have now. Romney couldn’t even defeat the Marxist Muslim.

A brawl which forces the very few RINOs out and keeps the vast majority of Americans.
About time.

I loathe these GOP pukes more than I do the Dems. At least the Dems are in your face with their agenda, for the most part...
Thanks. Much appreciated.
