The political director of a prominent Tea Party Super PAC predicts that big punches will be thrown within the GOP as groups like his gear up for primary challenges in the 2014 midterm elections against Republicans whom they view as not conservative enough.
I think the 2014 primary cycle is going to be unlike anything that we've seen, said the Madison Projects Drew Ryun. This is going to be the equivalent of a bar room brawl.
The Republican establishment, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is going head-to-head with the Madison Project in several of the races where the Super PAC is working to replace the incumbent. But Ryun told Top Line they were ready for the fight.
I think it's going to come down to a battle of tactics, Ryun said. They're going to have more money; we're going to have more people. And, basically, who employs the best tactics is going to come out on top of these primaries.
Ryun acknowledged that the Tea Party had fallen short in the past in choosing viable candidates. Its for this reason, he said, that the Madison Project was selective in choosing which candidates to back and pointed to the their support of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as one example.
Ted Cruz being a great example for us in the 2012 cycle where there's a five-way primary in that Texas primary race. We had the opportunity to meet with him, in a sense clarify for the Republican movement. This is our guy; he went on to win, Ryun said.

Let’s see whether the GOPe fight harder against the Tea Party than they do the Dem’s.
If they do, we’ll use that behavior against them.
Doesn’t have to be, if the GOPe comes to their senses and adopts a common sense conservative agenda. And drops their radical leftist agenda.
This is what we need to see coming from these Tea Party groups...This is what will turn around the moderate republican party and get it back on a conservative tack...
Mitch McConnell in Kentucky is a big target, as is John Cornyn in Texas...
I do not know the Kentucky challenger(s), but just this week Steve Stockman (TX-36) who won this new congressional seat in the Texas delegation decided at the last minute to forgo re-election to Congress and go against the John Cornyn machine...
I hope the folks running against the Dems in the vunerable democrat party senate seats pay attention and run with this crowd...We need this Senate bad...If we can hang onto the House (fairly likely) we can truely put Obama in an absolute worthless role in government and make his last two years miserable...Which is worth it on its own merits...
Exactly!!!
You hit it right on the head...
Leftist news organ ABC is playing the entertainment value of the GOP primaries.
Let them have their laugh now. They won’t be so jovial later.
And the Earth shook. Fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters, but in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. We who found it are just men. Not gods. Not giants. Just men. The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women."
So it is said, so it shall be done, so say we all. No surrender to GOPe!
It is time for the conservatives to form another party and leave the liberal parties behind.
Reckon so.
Weak, tired, outdated Mitch offered his supporters a “punch in the nose” because Conservatives are viewed as bullies to him and his RINO and Democrat friends.
Threatening someone because you are going to vote against them makes Mitch a poor “representative”.
Mitch needs to go to a Middle School English class and find out what the word Represent means.
It might help him (and all RINO’s) to learn that if you insult your voters, you might not get elected again.
I feel like David Duchovny trying to explain a simple concept to Zoolander...
Yes that’s it, they have sold out meaning their campaign coffers are controlled by other interests who are telling them what they must do.
There will be lots of broken glass in 2014. The Beltway elites will not leave without a fight. This is a watershed election for conservatives.
For quite some time I’ve been encouraging principled conservatives, those who understand the true obligations of the oath, who are committed to keeping those obligations, to get in a race. Any race. Just run.
And, I’m not asking anyone to do what I’m not willing to do myself.

Here i shoping the Tea Party People bring some heavy artillery to that brawl. The Crony Capitalists as well as special liberal interest groups, will be pulling heavily for the RINOs - as they always do.
Thanks be to God. At last, we can show up at the primary cycle gunfight with something more than a megaphone and nail clippers.
Too long coming. We must go for broke this cycle, since breaking us permanently is the goal now, on both sides of the aisle.
There may be a “bar room brawl”, but I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that those are usually started by drunks.
You are right on both counts. In spades.
2014 is gonna be epic.
Thanks, Tom. You are doing yeomans work.
