Once there was a boy so meek and modest, he was awarded a Most Humble badge. The next day, it was taken away because he wore it. Here endeth the lesson.
How do you practice humility from the most exalted throne on earth? Rarely has a new player on the world stage captured so much attention so quicklyyoung and old, faithful and cynicalas has Pope Francis. In his nine months in office, he has placed himself at the very center of the central conversations of our time: about wealth and poverty, fairness and justice, transparency, modernity, globalization, the role of women, the nature of marriage, the temptations of power.

Temporarily living in Canada while about to give birth to Rafael Bienvenido Cruz’s son? Thanks for opening that Pandora’s box upon the Country. I’m out.
see ya
And why is it important what a handful of idiots decide on this?
“Am I just wanting to believe we dont have a pope who is a socialist”
That makes no sense. Socialists are atheists. Are you wondering if the Pope is an atheist?
There is not a single quote or statement from the Pope that suggests that.
The press is deliberately misinterpreting the ‘Evangelii Gaudium’ that the Pope wrote recently. Just google it and judge it based on the actual text. There is nothing anti-capitalist in there. Anti-anarchist, maybe.
Yup! I would say that “wacked” is an understatement LOL!
You can't be so obtuse as to believe this Pope has been soooo much in the news he was chosen. It's because he's chirping the sounds of leftists all over the globe, period. You can't be so obtuse to not have seen the abuse Time has had concerning their award. They hedge their choices as much as they can, this one is no different. Had they put Obama, it would have had to be the news about his total failures, so they chose someone they could put forward in his place, that apparently is saying the same things.
Time’s People of the Year aren’t really indicative of anything specific. George W. Bush was named so as well. So was Bush Sr. And Reagan twice.
>> Im about done with the institution.
I’m not done with the Church.
“apparently is saying the same things”
Apparently? You are not really sure are you?
Just throwing around uninformed speculation based on BS you probably read on Time magazine. Ok, I get it. Carry on.
oH, GIVE IT UP.
the Pope is a good man.
Wow... just wow. You REALLY have no idea what Catholics believe, do you?
Sorry, you all can pretend all you want, the man seems to be a pathetic leftist concerning economics and should never have waded into a subject he's ignorant about.
That so many of you here don't see this is a bit scary..........it's like you parked many of the principles you claim to believe in at the church door.
Really, when you're writing about other people's faith, for fairness' sake you should fact-check first for accuracy. If you don't, and you go with a collection of falsehoods, then it comes under "Bearing false witness against your neighbor"; and that's still a sin, last time I checked.
“Frankly I thought they were going to go with Ed Snowden.
Few have had a bigger impact on the news cycle.”
Ed Snowden would have been my choice too. However, Time picks their choices not to reflect the news, but to INFLUENCE it. I am a Roman Catholic, and so while I know the Pope is infallible when speaking Ex Cathedra on matters of faith and morals, I also know the only reason Time chose him is because of his leftist, socialist economic wiews, which are anything BUT infallible.
The liberal media will deliberately misinterpret what he says to further their own agenda, regardless of what he comments on. You'd think as a conservative you would realize that.
So now it is Governor Palin that get thrown under the bus.
Sarah Palin is a non-denominational Christian, she doesn't belong to whatever denomination you are attacking her for.
They chose the Pope because they think he leans left.
Nothing about God there.
I’m sorry but he is a big boy and should know how his comments can be mistrued. No Pope in living memory has had given anywhere near as much ‘misinterpretted’ fodder to the press. The controversies are his fault and I’m not so naive as to believe they’re unintentional.
