There are too many leaders who claim solidarity with Madiba’s struggle for freedom, but do not tolerate dissent from their own people.

And if you question that, you'll be audited by the IRS.

Obama expressed a gesture of solidarity with Castro’s dictatorship today. He’s far more offensive to card carrying members of the GOP than he is towards outright Communist dictators and their kin.

Obama thrills crowd as he honors Mandela
http://www.sfgate.com/news/world/article/Obama-thrills-crowd-as-he-honors-Mandela-5050133.php

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — U.S. President Barack Obama exhorted the world Tuesday to embrace Nelson Mandela’s universal message of peace and justice, electrifying tens of thousands of rain-lashed spectators and prompting a standing ovation by scores of heads of state in a South African stadium.

In a speech that received thunderous applause, Obama urged people to apply the lessons of Mandela, who emerged from 27 years in prison under a racist regime, embraced his enemies when he finally walked to freedom and promoted forgiveness and reconciliation in South Africa.

“We, too, must act on behalf of justice. We, too, must act on behalf of peace,” said Obama, who like Mandela became the first black president of his country. Obama said that when he was a student, Mandela “woke me up to my responsibilities — to others, and to myself — and set me on an improbable journey that finds me here today.”

At a memorial in South Africa, Obama says, “We will never see the likes of Nelson Mandela again.”

“You Egyptians were all inspired by Obama, I’m sure, what would words for the inspirational American president wod you have now...?”

They tried that about 100 times.

Obama’s Handshake with Castro

By Mona Charen

12/10/2013

Alan Gross has been rotting in a Cuban prison for going on five years for the offense of distributing computers and cell phones to Cuba’s tiny Jewish community. Not only is Gross an American citizen, he was an employee of the U.S. State Department’s Agency for International Development when he was unlawfully arrested.

That the Obama administration has not seen to his release is outrage enough — but to witness the handshake between Obama and Raúl Castro makes the stomach turn. Even without the Gross case, the nature of the Cuban regime should be enough to cause our president to find some way to avoid a handshake. Shameful day to be an American.

(Obama salutes all smiles first among all the dignitaries to Raul Castro. It must be noted that next to Raul Castro was the President of Brazil, Dilma Russeff , and any gentleman would have salute her first, specially being Brazil the most important country in Latin America. )

I agree with Obama. The Pope and Cardinal Dolan had no business praising a pro-abortion Communist.

Reminds me of when Dolan said the pro-abortion governor of New York (Paterson) was “a Catholic who takes his Christian faith seriously.”

I wish Rome would add just one new qualification for their appointments as bishop: Should be a Catholic.
