President Barack Obama delivered a eulogy to South Africa's late President Nelson Mandela at First National Bank Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg on Tuesday, before a large crowd that had gathered in the rain for a memorial together with dozens of heads of state from around the world. The president's address was devoted to Mandela's life and example. However, as in most Obama addresses, he could not resist talking about himself.
"For the people of South Africa, for those he inspired around the globe--Madibas passing is rightly a time of mourning, and a time to celebrate his heroic life," President Obama said in remarks prepared for delivery. But I believe it should also prompt in each of us a time for self-reflection. With honesty, regardless of our station or circumstance, we must ask: how well have I applied his lessons in my own life? It is a question I ask myself--as a man and as a President."
"Over thirty years ago, while still a student," he said later in his address, "I learned of Mandela and the struggles in this land. It stirred something in me. It woke me up to my responsibilities--to others, and to myself--and set me on an improbable journey that finds me here today. And while I will always fall short of Madibas example, he makes me want to be better."

Obama simply must be the bride at every wedding, and the corpse at every funeral.
I was half watching for about an hour, all I heard them say was “he gave a moving speech, “ and I’m not real sure what had moved. On the other hand they had an extended interview with Marcus Lutrell, “Lone Survivor,” which is coming out as a movie soon. Young woman interviewing was all smiles, maybe a little inappropriately considering the subject matter, “on the edge of my seat for 40 minutes. “ A lot of people are going to want to see the movie because of that interview.
When you become your own caricature, it’s time to quit.
Again, the analogy was directed at Cruz, you know it and won’t admit it and not that he is in any way compared to The Lord but what he did to look evil in the face. Geez, grow up!
And turned a prosperous country that could feed its own people into a struggling third world crapper.
Did Mandela hate Whitey and America as much as the Marxist Moron?
Pray America is Waking
Is that count TRUE??
Trying to watch my local weather to see how to dress my son today and they break in with this crap.
Aren’t there any of his handlers that can muzzle this clown’s narcissism?
What’s odd is many of them seem narcissistic on his behalf when they speak in support of him.
has anyone counted how many times he used “I” “Me” in a speech?
Its a fair bet its a lot.
According to this article in Investor's Business Daily that is the actual count.
In touching Tribute To Mandela, Obama Posts Photo Of Himself Watching TV
"During his 593-word statement, Obama managed to reference the deceased freedom fighter eight times.
Predictably, Obama also managed to reference Obama 14 times."
Did he blame Mandela’s death on George W. Bush and the Republicans?
This seems to be a standard theme to every obama speech.
This memorial service reminds me of the last episode of Seinfeld, where goofy characters you had forgotten about travelled from far and wide to gather for one last time.

What a strange assortment of publicity hounds scrambling for crumbs left over from Mandela’s carefully crafted ‘legacy’.
