Is this the same group of lawmen who, several years ago, shot an LA homeowner dead, claiming he had many thousands of kilos of drugs in his garage? But really wanted to confiscate the land for a state park?
They found nothing.
I knew a guy at my first job in Calif who was just out of the military and was also going to training so he could be a deputy marshal. He got in and was happy until his whole unit was transferred into the sheriff dept. About that time they were in an other scandal (around early 90’s) He said that he did not like being a sheriff because of their reputation. I did not feel so bad as he was stationed in Malibu and I suspect spent his days looking for bottles of lost suntan lotion of bikini clad starlets.
That’s pretty aggressive/stupid.

I am very happy to see scumbags getting what they deserve. I hope the courts actually give them what they deserve. Abuse of authority like that should be a life sentence.
