A Colorado baker who refused to make a cake for a gay couple has been given an ultimatum by a judge; serve gay weddings or face fines.
Administrative law judge Robert N. Spence found Friday that Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Denver, Colo. violated the law when he turned away David Mullins, 29, and Charlie Craig, 33, from his shop last year.
In his written decision, Spence ordered that Phillips "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples, or face financial penalties, and cited Colorado state law that prohibits businesses from refusing service based on race, sex, marital status or sexual orientation.

I’d still go with (1) quote an insanely high price and let the perverts decide on their own initiative to go elsewhere, or (2) write a contract that specifies no penalty for non-performance and then cancel at the last minute for unspecified reasons. Don’t refuse and give the thugs a lever, just end up not doing it at the last minute. In any state that compels slavery, we have no obligation to deal with thugs politely or professionally.
Always nice to have some prayers from the home front, but they won't work for this fight. You are pitting lawyers against lawyers representing a system that is corrupted.
You are not fighting a fair fight and your loss is guranteed. It is this very system that has to be uprooted because it is no longer based on natural law or even the MagnaCarta. It is based on social engineering, devised by Marxist infused legal minds and their legions of ignorant advocates who are increasingly more powerful each year that passes.
The state of Colorado went off the deep end some time ago when it was invaded by leftists who control Denver and several other cities. The State is fracturing as a result and this does not bother the leftists at all. In fact they apply themselves even harder and turn up the heat, if they can on every Christian and every man, woman or child that does not bow to their wisdom and their good intentions.
You cannot win anything from them....... You can only run, or turn and fight with the aid of a counter revolution that is much bigger than theirs..and that will most assuredly lead to the government using it's police powers to stop it.
When that happens, then and only then will you begin the process of removing those rotten planks, one at a time or all at once...depending on how things go.
The harder they try to stop you, the more people will join the counter move and the politics of this will either change, or they and many of us will be destroyed. But there will be a winner.
It's the only way...and prayers won't determine how this goes. Courage will, sacrifice will, and determination will.
If it goes right, we will once again have a free, capitalist country. if it does not, we won't be any worse off then we were because we are dying in place right now.
There is one aspect that is underway that may or may not be effective..There is a Article 5 convention movement that has begun. If successful they will be able to get enough states to commit to a article 5 convention that could lead to a return to a Constitutional government. They alone would have the power to dissolve the current national government in a peaceful process.
But I have not much hope it will be successful. However it needs to be tried before we let the dogs out..
More than just prayers. Do not limit it to that, or you have committed Ye Olde Strawman Argumente. It’s living faith relationship. Embracing God as the real entity He is.
THAT has to energize what follows, and you have presented a bunch of worldly potpourri which itself at best is way harder than it needs to be. We are not a frontier like in 1776. We can’t replicate that.
Again, I want to remind you that God deals with rot differently than the world does. The world can only cut the rot out. God can heal.
And another thing that God does is gives us the perspective that we ALL have rot. Without exception.
Therefore we can not find anyone with pure white halo to take the kingship. Well, except one, and He is of heaven. We deal with checkered characters, without exception. Including us.
Get some perspective and get some humility. You are working with clouded vision. I am not.
Churches aren’t God.
God is God.
How about strong enough to make this entire universe and keep it going? Strong enough for ya???
We're the ones who have made ourselves weak. It's called original sin and yes it has a mystical side. We've all done dipped into the devil in a foolish, foolish game. The bible is scanty with particulars but is unequivocal about the fact, and it matches up with spiritual reality.
Spirit is stronger than matter. Not weaker. We think it's insubstantial when it's more like simply out of our view.
So anyhow, yeah I am an enthusiast about this. Literally.
Prayers are good, but we need to direct them with the right ideas of God in mind. We need to ask for God to imbue our own spirits with His strength. THEN we need to act with an entire new point of view! We have colors in our palette now that we didn’t even know were available.
God is glad to forgive and renew. That’s what the whole affair of coming to the world as a human and dying on a cross was about. But God won’t excuse. If we keep on telling God no, no, no to getting forgiven and renewed... well we end up as slaves to the devil and going to hell. It wasn’t God’s fault. We refused.
Umm... unless those things are rightly directed, and "prayers" ARE part of that picture, they won't do squat.
Again, we have a sin problem. Sin (or rather its Greek term, hamartia) is a term that was used by archers to describe how the arrow went wide of the mark. We aren't aimed like we ought to be. You know how a gun needs to be aimed right or what you want shot won't be shot? Well same with us. We need that spirit sight on our guns. God will forgive! God will set our aims right again! But we have to put in the effort.
I bought a cake and tell them to donate it to their church.

Gay marriage is not legal in Colorado.
How can you require someone to support an act that isn’t legal?
Often happens here when I decide to post a opinion.
You are free to accept of dismiss the opinion but as with many of your church going brethren, (I am a Deist) You cannot resist the temptation to make personal judgments in regard to me.
I dismiss your judgments. I did not dismiss your opinion. But you have difficulty separating then two.
I only ask for the same tolerance.
If you cannot do that, then thee and me will have a problem. I have not issued any opinions on churches. If I did , you would definitely know it. What I told you is that religion and/or churches cannot repair this problem. The people you are dealing with are Godless. The simple fact is the the damage done to this country was done right under your noses by these people and you collectively did nothing. So now you certainly cannot expect to fix it or anything related to it. That idea is complete rubbish. That job will be dealt with by warriors and they won't be praying. They will use every means at their disposal to slow, stop and reverse this damage or die trying. But you are welcome to pray about it. I just would be embarrassed to ask God to help me commit sins. Sins which I will most certainly commit. If you cannot grasp that logic, I cannot help you further and you will be of little use in the repairs to this once great country. So please do pray about it. Others will do that work.
Nope, I am definite that you are wrong and I don’t stand on worldly tolerance, I stand on God.
I am trying to tell you the favor of how to go right. Now you may refuse it, but do not fail to notice that when you do fail, that you had been warned.
The godless can become godful, or at the least recognize the presence of God and fear it.
Go ahead and BE a Deist if you must, but don’t complain that you have not been warned that it is suboptimal. Some founding fathers were deists. I would aver that is one reason why there was not a vigorous rejection of the curse of chattel slavery. They had imagined a God that was backed-off enough to give them room for their vice. That is a curse that has kept on giving to this day. The Democrat party arose to defend the curse and has kept on giving with degradation to humanity to this day.
I would almost bet... though I haven’t done the research... that if you followed Democrats you’d see more deists, and among Republicans you’d see more small-o orthodox Christianity. (And by that I mean the mainstream Catholic and Protestant flavors. Big-o Orthodoxy was not a very large factor in America.)
I am only telling you that I won't be doing that. What I will do is not in the name of God, it will be in the name of mankind, freedom, capitalism and our way of life that we founded this country on.
I have separated God from the equation because I don't believe he would approve. If he does, I would never likely know it. And if he did not, I would simply tell him that he might be wrong long term and to give it further consideration. I may be many things, but one thing I am not is a hypocrite. What you see is what you get. I do not believe that you are one either...and we both believe we are right. Time will tell which of us in in error.
So.....I suppose you are inferring that I am a democrat now?
LOL
For a so called bunch of nonjudgmental folks, you sure do a lot of erroneous judging.
Hire a 300# stone cold headbreaker to dress in nice clothes and hang out in my bakery all day, pretending to be a customer. When the gay couple tries to force me to bake a penis cake, he does what comes naturally, I give him severance in cash and he replaces himself with one of his buddies.
Who was the attacker? No idea...I think the gentleman gave his name as Millstone...Mr. Millstone. He was purple and had three legs, hope you catch him ;)
Sure. Congress, and most of the States, have passed "non-discrimination" laws that deal with "public accommodations". Congress, and most States, have added "sexual orientation" (and Congress has now added "gender presentation") as forbidden grounds for refusing service.
Any other questions?
Oh, yes, you want to know if these "laws" are constitutional? Not so much.
But that's the source of authority.
BTW, I was a Republican for 35 years, and for the last several years I simply consider myself a conservative. No party affiliations at all...Just as I am not affiliated with any church, group or organization of anykind..
