What a great article.

If I were a father living in Cuba trying to feed my family and had the CDR make my life a living hell every time I happened upon a black market piece of meat, or milk for my children, you can bet your ass that the first guy I’m coming for once the government goes down is that CDR SOB that’s been snitching on me for years.

I remember that film of San Fran before the big quake and there was an old film of London before the Muzzies, both were quite remarkable.

I would love to visit Havana if I knew it was safe. Not sure. Same for North Korea. Fascinating(and sad) how those societies function.

From the article, and sooooo true:

If Cuba had free enterprise, and if Americans could travel there without restrictions, the economy would go supernova.

I'd like to see that.

“Until full democracy is restored,” he told me,” I will never set foot in my native land

Got news for ya, in far less than a generation full Democracy will bring you right back to the point where you find Cuba now.

"Come on MSM, let's hear again about Cuba's wonderful free education and health care."

Oh yah, and let's hear from Fat A$$(Michael Moore), and Speilberg, and all the other millionaire leftist creeps, about what a great guy Castro is, and how the USA should be more like Cuba.

Why don't all these lefties just move there, if they think it's so freakin great?

Better not let the democrat party read too much about Cuba=it's their wet dream government.

Also, somebody should tell the poor here , about Cuba - and that is what our USA will end up like, if we don't soon get off the democrat "income equality" crazy train. (i.e.in Cuba everybody "earns" $20 per month-no matter what their job/education is-equal poverty for everyone. Joy.)

Empowering your government to take care of your every need is a recipe for disaster.

Great Article BUMP

The media are natural liars. The truth is their socialist dreams destroy cities and countries, not in some vague sense, but in the real harm done to living human beings degraded by socialism. They won’t fathom that. Think of the ego that could ignore so much suffering.

In Navy and 18y/o when my carrier left shipyard in early 1961 and transited to GITMO Bay area of the Carrib for carrier trials and pilot quals.

Older hands had been there before Havana was closed to shore liberty and told many yarns about the casinos, nightclubs, bars, restaurants and women. All were great and safe.

The Mafia mobs had heavy investments (and revenue) from ownership of those establishments, tourism from the USA and payments to the Cuban government.

When access by Americans to Havana was cut off (wasn’t that JFK?), the Mafia was stiffed and Havana shriveled. The Cubans no longer had that influx of US $$.

I still strongly feel that such actions by JFK and RFK led to their deaths by order of the Mafia. .....jmo
