Or you can do like I do: no "smartphone" here ... I have what they call a "feature" phone.
It makes PHONE CALLS (imagine that) and can send an occasional text message. Other than that, no data plan, no internet access from the phone, no watching video's or listening to MP3's. It just makes phone calls and sends an occasional text.
That's it.
BTW: My cellphone service costs me about $100/year that way. I buy 1,000 minutes for $100 and load them on my phone. I've done that the last 4 years now and NEVER have I gone over 1,000 minutes in a year.
Can't beat that deal with a stick.
I’ve still got a couple of those ‘dumb’ phones laying around. I’ve often thought about re-activating one of them with Boost Mobile or a similar pay-as-you-go plan.
I was actually pretty resistant to moving to a smart phone in the first place, but the wife convinced me to let go and move on, partially for business reasons.
