As we approach the somber anniversary of the mass shooting inside Sandy Hook Elementary School, Channel 3 Eyewitness News has made the decision to stay out of Newtown that day out of respect for the community.
Newtown First Selectman Pat Llodra made a plea on Face the State with Dennis House on Sunday for the media to stay away from Newtown on Dec. 14, the one-year anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook.
"We truly need this time as a community to reflect, to be personal, to be with each other to continue that journey, that grief journey without the impediment or concern of the media," she said.

Wouldn’t bother me one bit. If they wanted healing, they would have stopped letting everyone use them to push gun control.

No. They need to spend their time ferreting out the evil perps that commit these crimes. And then deal with the with extreme prejudice.
