One of President Obama's chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America's youth fawning over the president are over.
A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public's.

Can't suspend elections. It's unconstitutional.
But if you do suspend the Constitution, then there is no law, and, therefore, nothing is illegal.
But there will remain those who swore to uphold that Constitution!
If your country has been taken over by commies, you need Gus.
What do each of you think will happen to America’s future??
Who cares? Even big media is slamming obama . It just takes focus off the dems who let him screw up the country . These articles are a distraction, nothing more.
There better be a wave in 2014 hopefully even bigger than 2010.
That’s it?
The question is too open ended to have just one answer. The future will be full of the same ups and downs as the past.
For the country, I believe that it will survive, and over the long haul, even prosper. Look to history to see how we'll get there.
Ok-
but what about in the next 4 years?
I've lost the thread of why you and I are even conversing.
Are these leading questions you're asking me? Do you have some point you're trying to make, or are you genuinely curious about my opinion?
He ain’t running for re-election, democratically at any rate
Yeah, what a bunch of fickle biches (and that's just the guys)
Well, that comment is at least the germ of a conversation.
The thing to understand about Obama, is that he's always running for something, and always will be. It's his crypto-Marxist agenda he's trying to sell, and the pitching never stops. Never will, despite his being out of office.
It is possible that the young may not vote in large number in 2014 because they will be so uninformed as not to know an election is being held. But I don’t see them deserting Obama, not unless Hollywood celebrities tell them to do so.
There is no way that HRC would place being a grandmother ahead of being POTUS.
I am curious about your opinion.
Alright, I’ll bite.
Generally, over the next four years, I see the pendulum of American politics swinging back toward the right. I believe we’re already seeing signs of it. Obama’s approval numbers are surprisingly low for a President who’s only in the first year of his second term.
The number one thing driving those numbers down is Obamacare, and the full impact of that heinous law hasn’t even hit the people yet. When it does, the Democrat party will wish they could roll back the hands of time so they could change their votes.
The ill effects of this destructive law are going to be so extreme that the pendulum is likely to be pinned to the right for decades to come. It’ll be a miracle if the Democrat party (as we know it) survives.
Again.
An armed society is a polite society..........
Well, I will agree with you that the full impact of Obamacare has not hit the people yet.
But as far as the rest of your comments I strongly disagree. Although the poll numbers are not good for O and not great for the Dems I believe that the Dems will steal the next set of elections, continue to force legislature upon the American people that not only continues to take away our rights but leaves our Constitution in a heap of ruins. Further, even though some people are finally waking up and see the damage the administration is doing to our country, it is not enough. The GOP constantly caves and shows nothing but utter disregard for the people they claim to represent. I see the Tea Party as a possible means to an end to save our great country but I fear there is not enough time or support to get true conservatives elected in enough states to make a difference. Add in the fact that conservatives fight too much amongst each other which only makes matters worse.
Lastly, there is the possible thought that things are happening as they are supposed to ...or in other words ...God is in control so hold on.....times are about to get very interesting.
Windflier, I appreciate your response. Thank you for taking time to write it. Best to you.
As I do yours. Thanks for expanding on your views.
I don't fundamentally disagree with you, but unlike you, I believe we're going to see a huge swing to the right in American politics in the next few years.
I'm not saying that our nation will magically wake up to everything we conservatives know and believe, but I do think that the collective will of the people will demand a return to more responsible, Constitutionally-based government.
Like the free market, there's a certain 'unseen hand' involved with millions upon millions of people all processing the same events and experiences simultaneously. If those events are painful enough, a general consensus emerges that expresses itself through nationwide elections that move the great ship of state into safer, calmer waters.
It's my belief that we're going to see something along those lines occur in the next two elections. Democrats who survive the next two election cycles will pull way back from the more radical fringe of their party's agenda. For them, it's going to be 'survival of the fittest' for some time to come. The smart ones are going to move solidly to the center to preserve themselves.
At the same time, I think we're going to see the Republican party move right. Moderates, liberals, and other traitors to Republican party ideals are going to increasingly find themselves on the wrong side of a wind that's blowing in a new direction.
These aren't predictions. They're extrapolations, based on what I've been observing since 2009. The rest of the country is going to catch up to where we conservatives and Tea Party activists have been for a long time. I know it may still feel a bit lonely, but reinforcements are coming. Better late than never :-)
