You can fire 10 Martin Bashirs and it won't start to repair damage done to NBC News
Martin Bashir, the embattled MSNBC show host who on Nov. 15 urged a crude and graphic form of punishment for Sarah Palin, resigned from the channel Wednesday.
MSNBC could afford to do nothing less than force Bashir out in the wake of his hateful speech.
Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, tried stonewalling the mounting criticism even after Bashir delivered an on-air apology, but the words and actions were too gross and hateful to allow Bashir to return.
SNIP
Under Griffin's leadership, MNSBC has become the leading proponent of such ideologically-charged, rabble-rousing rhetoric.
They don't do news at MSNBC any more. They just do propaganda. And you can only attack your ideological enemies so long before you find yourself in the realm of hate speech as Bashir did.
I hope this event will help Comcast come to understand how deeply Griffin and his cynical programming strategy have damaged the brand of NBC News and the network in general.

Yes, and he’s no fan of Sarah Palin.
“You can fire 10 Martin Bashirs and it won’t start to repair damage done to NBC News”
Has MSNBC done anything but hire Martin Bashirs in the past decade or more? Pre-2000(+/-), I watched MSNBC a LOT. It was, pre-Fox, the most conservative alternative to CNN. John Gibson was a delight.
Then Newsweek/WaPo took over and it was all downhill. Haven’t watched MSNBC in nearly a decade.
A real crap sandwich for Marty.
No sympathy for Bashir, but he was just following orders. There is so much of this at NBC/MSNBC that it must be encouraged from above.
Good riddance to this disgusting pervert. He should have been out on his can the day he made that sick comment about Palin. Better late than never I guess.
Yeah, except he didn’t eat his words, he never owned up to his mistake at all, he doesn’t believe that he made a mistake. His “apology” was — and I quote — “I deeply regret what was said...”
THAT is not an apology; it fails to takes ownership of what was said. An apology is, “I deeply regret what I SAID.”
This POS is NOT sorry; not by a long shot. At least he’s not sorry for his foul words, he’s only sorry that so many people were so judgmental of his words; sorry that the rest of the world isn’t the foul cesspool of sewage that his own mind is, and sorry to have lost his paycheck because the rest of the world doesn’t prefer sewage over civility and decorum.
Mistakes were made?
Huff Po has probably called him already
I’d be embarrassed to advertise on this so called news channel.
Someone in “authority” should deport this crude, hateful loser. There isn’t enough room in America for such degenerate aliens.

I believe the “MS” is just a holdover, as Microsoft long ago let go of its holdings of the network. I do not think Microsoft has any thing to do with MSNBC anymore.
Don’t be so cruel — let them go to a Muslim country where they discuss defecation in mouths on a daily basis. At least Bashir will be happy.
Even Comcast doesn’t dare to go up against the Gay Mafia at NBC New York.
Just too much to lose, for so little gain, and the queers know it.
“let them go to a Muslim country “

Yes, I should have thought of that first. North Korea would be too much to their liking.
Glen Becks cable Channel would be great! I would like a Tea Party network as well.
From the Sunpapers. One of the most Left leaning newspapers in the country.
I guess they will consider this a pro Palin story when really the Left just went over the top again.
