Hey that's my motto: Tough but sensitive! When I was single and on active duty, it worked very well for me with the young ladies. I'll wager the officer's who're antigun are not of the combat arms variety. "Trigger pullers" tend to take seriously the oath of protecting the CONSTITUTION from all enemies, foreign and domestic ...

It also would not surprise me if those officers were commissioned via one of the military academies. Most ROTC folks like myself come from a more well rounded and not nearly so elitist mindset.
