Its common knowledge that St. Peter guards the pearly gates. But what many people might not know is Pope Francis used to guard the door at a bar in Argentina.
Thats right: Pope Francis used to be a bar bouncer.
The 76-year-old pontiff disclosed his previous vocation in a parish visit to the church of San Cirillo Alessandrino in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Rome on Sunday, the Catholic News Service reported.
The nugget from Francis past, when he used to be known as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was disclosed during a four-hour conversation, in which the pope also mentioned he used to sweep floors and run tests in a chemical laboratory as a teenager.

This man has lived a full life already, so now he can concentrate on the healing of The Church. Pope Francis is even gaining favor of some agnostics, and lapsed or Cafeteria Catholics.

I like this pope in some ways in other ways he seems to be out in left field. Jesus was criticized for ministering in public houses (bars), as I read it he said he goes where the need is.

He has worked real jobs. He takes a more humble approach. I like this Pope. But, it’s not my opinion that matters.

Actually, a bar bouncer may be exactly what we need, to clean out the Vatican and retire the worst dissident bishops.

Well, I like a guy with varied work experience. Bouncer's good.
A little stable-scrubbing experience is ever better.
