The GOP might as well be dead

The Growth and Opportunity Project, aka “the autopsy,” was heralded as the Republican Party’s clear-eyed assessment of its 2012 presidential defeat. Autopsies are done on dead things, and ever since its March 2013 release, the GOP has done everything possible to stay dead.

The Republican Party is dead to African Americans. Not that there was much of pulse to begin with. Romney won 6 percent of the black vote to 93 percent for Obama, which isn’t surprising since Romney was looking to unseat the nation’s first black president. But it is also not surprising considering all of the voter suppression efforts around the country.

That the GOP ought to try to appeal to African Americans was recognized in the autopsy. “There are numerous outside groups that are studying the best way for the Republican Party to better reach African American voters,” the report pointed out. “The Republican Party should leverage the best practices identified by such organizations.” You employ that “best practices” nonsense when you and your staff haven’t a clue what to do. And it’s clear that if Michael Steele, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee who is black, were still head of the party, at least two egregious episodes would not have happened.

A tweet from the party’s official Twitter account on Sunday would not have celebrated Rosa Parks on the anniversary of her historic bus-boycott arrest by lauding “her role in ending racism.” Sure, the tweet was later corrected. But, come on, people. The lowest level black person at the RNC could have told them that the tweet as flat-out wrong and offensive. Not that anyone would have listened, assuming there are any low-level black people there.

Racism is not an objective label, it is like being ugly or smelling bad: if people *think* you are, then you are, no matter what YOU know you believe. Perception is reality every bit as much as it is in a job interview.

**************************

Perception is not reality, regardless of how many times this silly quote is repeated.

The majority were bought off with gubmint freebies and talk of anything but more of the gubmint freebies has proven a complete waste of time. The smart ones are and have been republicans while the majority is in the dark on the history of the party they so rabidly support.Screw em.

Nothing any hispanic or negro person does can be criticized.
That’s just the way it is and we shouldn’t fight it- we’re racist if we do, or at least we have to then fight against the accusation. Which fight we won’t win.

Yes, it’s a wonderful thing the media has accomplished in this country. Let’s just lie back and enjoy it.

Actually I think it’s a winning idea to oppose ‘black culture’ and illegal border crossing. It does mean the media will do as much as it can to destroy you. But that is a fight our culture desperately needs. The media is a predatory oligarchy and people will find that concept appaling once it’s forced upon them.

I think I opined that they are ALREADY dead.

THE GOP are not an opposition party to MarxoFascism - they are a Judenrat party towards empowering it to their perceived benefit and to our destruction.

AT the National Conventions, time and time again, news reporters point out that there are hardly any minorities as delegates at the Republican conventions.
The Dems I believe have a quota for delegates for minority representation at their conventions.

This is one thing the Republicans can change.

The other is to engage the Black Republicans, give them a role, going around to various cities and talking to black communities.

The other thing is “educating” the “history” of Republicans fighting for civil rights, for blacks, etc. Republicans have allowed the Dems to rewrite the history that it was the Dems that got civil rights won.

They should be making pamphlets about Margaret Sanger’s real reason for wanting abortions- to rid society of the minorities and the handicapped.

Republicans are terrible at getting the message out and at reinforcing the history of the party.

Allen West would be good- Ben Carson would be good....

All Republicans know how to do is send out rich white old men to deliver messages and run funding campaigns.

How things will look five or ten years down the road is hard to say.

Lots of smoke roiling in the air?

Unfortunately no one studies communist history anymore. If they did they could have easily recognized this was for what it was five years ago. It’s undeniable. The only question remains, how far will it go?

Given history and the fact we have surrendered the culture to hedonists and squatters, no longer beholden en masse to our Foundational Principles… I think it goes all the way - to our utter destruction.

Only genocide and tyranny will likely exist between now and the curtain going up on the End of the Age.

We let this happen, ignoring both God and the Founders. We have only ourselves to blame for surrendering before those who are subjugating us because we can no longer discern between good and evil.

The flaw in your argument is thinking that you can win these people over by placating/pandering to them. You can't. A number of Pubbie pols have tried (J.D. Hayworth, McCain) and gotten trounced for their efforts. Because they don't vote for Dems because Pubbies are mean to them...they vote for Dems because the Dems hand far more "freebies" than the Pubbies.

And furthermore, you're speaking dishonestly. They're illegals...plain and simple. To call them anything else is to live a lie. Whether from Latin American or anywhere else, an illegal is still an illegal.

Of course it isn’t.

Advertisers spend billions just for the fun of it.

Go ahead and live in denial.

I want to win elections. And that means coming to grips with the fact that anyone using certain words is and will be considered racist. And once you are labeled that you are not going to win many elections.

Anyone who thinks they can use words like ‘illegal’ instead of ‘undocumented’ or refer to blacks as being in the lower part of the bell curve is irrelevant in politics today and to come. You can’t use the ‘N’ word unless you are black, that’s just the way it is and the way it’s going to be for a long long while. Likewise, accusing blacks of being ‘on the democratic plantation’ and the like are simply going to backfire.

I don’t give a crap if someone scoffs at ‘political correctness’; this ain’t the world the founding fathers, or even Reagan knew. The choices are adapt or die. As a white male there are things I cannot do or say that a black and/or a female can. Just like 100 years ago there were things I could say and do that they couldn’t. I can whine about it or I can try to figure out how to get the message across that free markets and limited government result in the greatest good for the greatest number.

Take some time to watch the Judiciary Committee hearings today on C-SPAN. Our side was sharp, prepared, and correct, with an important message. Then look at the Dems. That’s even more important. The Dem witness was so defeated in the debate that it was embarrassing. The Dem Congresspeople were a laughingstock, emotional and oratorical, with the exception of Nadler, who objected to Obama on extreme leftist grounds, rather than trying to say, essentially, that the president’s autocratic moves were kind and loving. Then say we shouldn’t vote to keep the Dems out, no matter who ends up as the candidate.

The real question is: who is living in denial...you or me? I don’t question whether you are a conservative or not. I just question whether you understand that pandering to minorities will not win them over. Nobody is calling members of certain ethnic groups derogatory words...unless, of course like you, they think the term “illegal” is calling someone a dirty name. If I enter Mexico illegally, then I am an illegal. The Mexicans would have a right to call me that. Let me reiterate...anybody who is in this country illegally is an illegal.

Avoiding insulting people is not pandering.

Like it or not, the vast majority of currently ‘illegal’ people in this country are going to eventually be citizens and voters. There is simply no way the fantasy of many of the right, INCLUDING ME to rid the country of everyone who should’t be here is going to happen. I have issues with non English speakers and detest anyone who won’t assimilate, but it’s just a bad word to use, even though I have used it myself. It’s like calling people of pigment “African Americans”; what I think doesn’t matter; what they want to be called, if I want to work on getting their vote, does.

Now, I could be wrong, often am, but to me “pandering” is what the Democrats do, actually changing policy and telling bold lies. I merely mean that using language your potential ‘customer’ or ‘boss’ (voter) finds denigrating is NOT the way to win elections )or get sales or get a job).
