Unless the judge wants to have his home occupied (most judges have nice homes) they better give the fellow a summary order to quit, and turn him over to the local Sheriff for holding without bond.
Sovereign citizen stuff has to be snuffed quickly. They can smell weakness.
Has anyone notified the IRS about this man’s “income” in the form of the value of the house and contents? The IRS taxes large sums of money you find or even steal. His acquisition of the house would seem to fall into one of these categories so he should owe taxes.
the po-po would have new missing person on file.
I’m afraid if I were the homeowner, I would feel threatened. I would fear great bodily harm, and death.
“Robert Carr moved into a house, changed the locks, and emptied the house.”
Bob, you need to leave my house - No, bang, bang two rounds center mass. Sorry Bob, wrong answer. Hello 911, I just shot an intruder in my home, please send the coroner.
This would not have been a very long conversation at my house. It would have ended quickly, abruptly, and loudly.
If I came home and found him there I’d just shoot his arse
Obviously (from the story), this guy is rolling the dice and looking for a lottery win. It’s coming down to the definition of “abandoned”, which apparently means “any moment the house is unoccupied” in his opportunistic mind.
I don’t get this.
If this happened to me, this man would cease to exist.
He would just disappear.
Homeowners return home - squatter ventilated
much of this is “sovereign citizen” anarchist garbage.
Adverse posession has to be continuous, public, and without opposition. The fact there is a civil AND criminal court case means there is no adverse claim.
Not only should he go to jail, but the group advizing him should be financially liable as well as any lawyers. PERSONALLY.
He should also be sanctioned by having to have all his filings required to be prescreened by a judge for further abuse of process.
Couldn’t you shoot this person and say you were scared for your life? He invaded your home. He was going to attack etc.
Any idea how long the owners had been gone?
"Occupy Wall Street" asserts squatter's rights to single dad's home, gives it to "homeless" family
A previous article quoted an expert to the effect that adverse possession is the only authentic legal doctrine under which this could be done.
But to take title by adverse possession, in most states, the claimant must prove he has occupied the property continuously for something like 15 - 30 years (depending on the state).
“...only to come home and find a complete stranger living in your house”
Déjà vu! I thought we went through this already in the “white” house. Some stranger living there, cant seem to get rid of him, and all.
Ah...I see Robert Carr is of a dark skin race...that means he is entitled to it. Case closed
Spray him with 3” #7 buckshot from a keltec bull pup and turn him into a sieve.
He’ll seek medical help, go to the hospital and while he is out you can change the locks, move back in.
I’d get five rottweilers from East LA on the property STAT and place two PHALANX Gatling guns on the roof.
One on the NE corner, the other on the SW corner.
Then install Fort Knox doors on the front and back door.
Place two Claymores wherever someone can enter(remember to fsce them outward).
Should be good to go after that.
same thing happended in DC in 2008?
Apparently he has done this multiple times before
