The British government tried to cover its tracks. But a new cache of documents Robert Spencer and I have received in our battle to overturn our being banned from Britain reveal that a chief reason why we were banned from the country was because we strongly support Israel. As part of our lawsuit against the Queen of England and the Home Secretary et al, we have received numerous documents between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Office of Security and Counterterrorism, and the Home Secretary. In one of them, an official in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office whose name was redacted wrote this letter on May 7 to a recipient whose name was also redacted:
I have received initial feedback from Post to say that they do not expect that there would be any reaction from the US Administration to these exclusions.
We do have concerns with some of the reasoning in the sub, particularly citing pro-Israeli views and. [sic] Pro-Israeli views (and also support for waterboarding) apply to a large number of Americans, including former Presidents. If, for instance, Geller and Spencer were to request details of their exclusion under FOI/DPA or other mechanism, that being pro-Israeli is cited as a reason may be problematic and they could argue publically that their exclusion is on the basis of their support for Israel.

Michael Savage too no doubt...
What a shame for UK.
Lady Geller is probably safer here in the states, even in our present watered down level of strength. Mike Savage is still banned. I recall being very surprised that more conservative talkers were not sticking up for Mike a few years ago, when he became “Banned in Britian” due to so called hate speech against Muslims. Where was everybody on our side? Then I though about it, Mike “Savages” the characters and personal reputations of most other top conservative talkers. He’s notorious for being the obligatory contrarian, and saying negative things about his most competitive talk show peers. So when the day came that mike needed their unfettered support, the loudest sound was that of the crickets. That’s what you call Burning One’s Bridges, big time.
Let’s see our British freepers defend this. I have only met Pam Geller once - and exchanged emails with her a lot - and I can say she is one kind-hearted, fine lady. Happily, in America, we don’t ban Ukip from coming here and talking. Pam hosts them on occasion.
Regrettably, the current “Conservative” PM is indistinguishable from the Labour Party. Pro-gay-marriage and anti-Semitic, just like all the other leftists. And he swoons over Obama.
As the U.K. Telegraph and other influential U.K. constituents did to Mark Steyn and Conrad Black.
You are very right. He never should have said all those things about his competitors.
Mr. Cameron is much more interested in being P.M. than being conservative, in many ways he is less on our side than the previous Labour Party P.M. that at least was a friend of America instead of just being a friend of the occupant, go figure. shame on Cameron and his whole administration
Her other Daily Caller articles are here:
I wont defend the ban. Bad decision.
But I still think she is a loony-tune who talks an immense amount of crap.
Its easy for Geller to say anything, easy for her to say ‘why’ she was banned. No impartial third source.
BTW, I thought the ban was wrong. Let her in, nobody would have taken any notice of her and she would have gone back to the US. The ban just made her a martyr.
Cameron may be many things, but anti-Semitic he isn’t. He himself is part-Jewish, or didn’t you know that?.
As is the leader of the Labour Party (german jewish) and the Deputy PM (dutch jewish).
Sorry, what are saying the UK has done to Mark Steyn and Conrad Black?. That they are banned, that there has been a campaign against them?.
Steyn isn’t banned here, in fact nobody has heard of him here bar Limeys like me who inhabit places like this.
And Black is a convicted cheat, BUT has managed to parlay that into a post-prison career as a celebrity, the man has even hosted an episode of the UK’s most popular weekly topical news comedy-quiz (Have I Got News For You, on BBC1).
Read the article, and see the venom Geller now has for Tommy Robinson. This was the man that this woman hailed as the Second Coming just a few weeks ago.
Yeah? Some of us think you’re a bit of a looney tune, trolling the web all day in an attempt to correct Americans’ ‘misperceptions’ of the UK.
Pam Geller is ahead of the curve on Islam.
I am sorry I criticise your bestest chum Pammy, but I don’t like her. That’s my right. You like her, and that’s fine. Such is life in a free world.
And I don’t troll, I post, I talk about the UK and its issues. Just like you, just like vanders or madmitch or naturalman and other British/Irish/Anglophile freepers.
Troll?. Come on, I expect much better from you.
Lee, don’t you think they should have still spoken up? I’m not a fan of Savage but it was weird and creepy for him to be banned from speaking in the UK. Rush likes to travel to Europe on his vacations - and it’s entirely possible that he could be next.
Oh, no you don’t. You’re still pissed off since I put down Bisto.
I’ll take it a step further: I think some of you UK guys cannot stand a certain type of American woman. You know, the highly verbal, highly regional types (Long Island and the Far West) like Geller and Palin. If I troll around the British newspapers - from the far left to the far right - the hatred towards Palin is beyond belief. I can’t even begin to think what they make of Geller!
It could possibly be something else yes. Michael Savage is another fairly loud public speaker who UK government won’t let visit ( and his support for Israel is not nearly as consistent as Geller’s). Still, both of these people appear to be responsible citizens lacking any threat to UK like so many of the people UK let’s visit Or, for that matter, move in. ( USA suffers from its own open borders and inconsistencies of course. As does Israel. The enemy within is regrettably alive and well in all three. ( and several more) countries these date. And pointing it out can be viewed as. “ politically incorrect “ by those in charge. Not a good omen for our future.
