Obama administration officials said Saturday they were "on track" to have the problematic ObamaCare website running smoothly by their self-imposed Nov. 30 deadline.
"With the scheduled upgrades last night and tonight, we're on track to meet our stated goal for the site to work for the vast majority of users," Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services spokesman Aaron Albright told Fox News, in a statement.
Administration officials have since announcing the deadline qualified expectations and outcomes by repeatedly saying the site would work for the vast majority of people.
The Washington Post earlier Saturday reported the administration was prepared to announce Sunday that they have met deadlines for improving HealthCare.gov.
Official have said over the past week that the crash-prone site -- which launched Oct. 1 with disastrous results -- will now be able to handle 50,000 users at once. However, technicians failed to reach the deadline to fix at least some of the glitches, according to the newspaper.
Just hours before the deadline, CMS announced the site would be down for an extended period overnight Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday. During that time, the online application and enrollment system was available.
If the site doesnt deliver, the president's credibility, political support and fate of his landmark health care law could be in jeopardy. If the site is able to recover, it will go a long way in restoring confidence in the program.
The financial success of the Affordable Care Act rests in getting young, healthy people to sign up for the program. If they lose interest or bolt, the program will not be profitable.
The White House says it's made numerous upgrades in both software and hardware over the last month, which also will allow the site to handle more than 800,000 visitors a day.

it’s a ploy
Captain Obvious says “people have been creating reliable websites that handle lot’s of traffic since the early 90’s..
amazon
e-bay
yahoo
google
apple
bing

they are getting a website up and running. This is news?
How much is this costing us?
"Dont forget that all of this is just to get the front end working. Does the subsidy payment system on the back end even exist yet? If not, then the 23 shopping days are meaningless, because insurers might not provide coverage without full premium payments."
New plan on Healthcare.gov: Declare victory
and fix it later
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
None of these "will it or won't it be fixed" articles tackle the healthcare.gov security issues.
Why? Because it is an identity- theft time bomb that exposes your personal information to even the most novice hacker. Not the remotest possibility exists that THIS HeathCare.gov problem could have been fixed in 2 months.
The rabid elephant in the room...
I concur. It was intentional.
Would you fly on an airline whose CEO stated that "80 percent of the time, our planes land safely?"
Exactly. This like giving a blind old cripple all the time and money he needs to build a porche.
Total agreement that ObamaCare is catastrophic to all Americans, bar none, BUT the ploy of a “fixed” ObamaCare website comes with a dangerous hook. See post 24.
Great, now a LOT more people can find how expensive it is!
A train with no engine can be on track, so what?
If anyone has trouble getting on line with it, they can blame me. I made it a blocked site....
