The Redskins, as everyone who isn’t the media by now knows, got their name from their Native American players back in the day. Some of the surviving WW2 Navajo code talkers may know that, because unlike liberals, they weren’t born yesterday.

Four representatives — Navajo Code Talkers Association President Peter MacDonald Sr., Vice President Roy Hawthorne and members George James Sr. and George Boyd Willie Sr. — were recognized during a commercial break during the first quarter of the Redskins’ game vs. the San Francisco 49ers. They stood in the end zone nearest the tunnel that leads to the Redskins’ locker room and received a round of applause while a video tribute to the code talkers played. These men saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of their fellow Americans... we owe them... forever.

Something doesn't make sense here. According to the Wikipedia article on the
Navajo Code Talkers, there's only one surviving original WWII Code Talker (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_talker#Popular_culture).
So either this article is old, or the men who appeared at the game are not original WWI Code Talkers, but rather those who carry the tradition forward. Which is fine -- no disrespect intended whatsoever. This is from the Wikipedia page:
A memoir has been written by an actual code talker. Chester Nez is the last survivor of the original Navajo code talkers in WWII. He helped to develop the famous code and then took it into battle to prove that it would work. His memoir is Code Talker: The First and Only Memoir by One of the Original Navajo Code Talkers of WWII.
So I'm confused here. Somebody want to clarify?? What am I misunderstanding?

There are many racist terms that need to erased from our vocabular.
Hours on end of commericals touting BLACK FRIDAY. Albino friday might be more appropriate.
Brown Univeristy might be out of line as well.
