Is it safe? Radioactive Japanese wave nears US

In the wake of the deadly tsunami that hit Japan in 2011 and severely damaged a nuclear reactor, Japanese officials say the levels of radiation are safe for everyone outside the reactor area itself. But as radioactive water from the plant nears the West Coast of North America -- the water is expected to hit in 2014 -- can we be sure it's safe?

There should be no concern among Americans, of any age or location, Gilbert Ross, executive director of the American Council on Science and Health, told FoxNews.com.
If you want to list health concerns that Americans should worry about, start with the real killers -- drunk driving and smoking, Ross said.
If you went down a list of things people really should worry about, you would never even get to a concern about radiation leakage from Fukushima.

GODZIRRA!!!
Don't drink the water. Drink beer instead.

Must be on the list ahead of Global Swarming.
Where do these people COME FROM???
Red diaper doper families?
Don’t drink the water. Drink beer instead.
You better hurry before the mullahs destroy it all.

Perhaps we need “Triage Milk.”
This is why I won’t swim in a pool that allows West Coast people to swim in it.
Always ask first “Don’t be dim, ask before you swim”.
But.... .Im just NOT READY...for YH2O...
Carole King said it best..
And its too late Baby..
At least ya won’t have not worry about mercury in the game fish.. Hopefully it sunk to the bottom of the ocean on the trip here. :-/
The equivalent of 1 drop of oil in 2700 Olympic size swimming pools leaks into the gulf and the entire US seafood supply is in danger. Radioactive water spills into the pacific and..nada.
A friend is a Republican (Ron Paulite), but very concerned about GMO’s, nuclear contamination, big corporations, etc., etc... No more trust in gov’t or even science to do right by us, I think.
If the problem can’t be fixed by any reasonable action, then it’s more likely that we’ll simply be lied to. They do it often enough these days.
Always ask first Dont be dim, ask before you swim.
This is why there will be only night swimming.
To find out who glows in the dark.
Joke:
What’s round and Furry and Glows in the Dark??
Answer:
Your balls when you sit too close to the color TV.
Fresh, radioactive iodine? Yeah, but it decayed out much within a couple of weeks. Cesium? Well, it is long lasting, but there’s not much of it. And it won’t do much. And it dispersed too much to do any harm in the ocean.
Can it be any worse that when the United States used Bikini Atoll for Nuclear tests?
Is this the same water that whales poop in?
OMG!!!!!!!

I wish that were true. Hundreds of tons of radioactive waste dumping EVERY DAY into the ocean for 2 and a half years since Fukushima and it will continue pour, by the hundreds of tons, for.....decades? Or hundreds of years. It contains more than “not much” cesium and that becomes concentrated in carnivorous species (and we are hear the top of that food chain, as are yummy fish like tuna). The IAEA detected 31 isotopes at Fukushima - the only reason we sometimes hear about cesium is that it is one of the few they test for. Strontium is worse, lasts longer etc. and it is present as are other isotopes (Plutonium, for example). If we’d ever tried this before - dumping hundreds of tons of radioactive waste into the ocean for years - I’d have more confidence that it’s not going to effect anything. But this is brand new and it’s not going to stop in our lifetimes...
Yes. Much more radioactive waste involved at Fukushima and the testing at the atoll eventually stopped but the flushing of hundreds of tons of radioactive waste is not going to stop until....who knows? They have no way to stop it so it’s possible it stops when all of the contents of 3 melted cores are flushed into the ocean over the course of decades or longer.
