Springer was going to off King because of the aggressive behavior. LAPD stepped in and for the most part did well except for one of the four in the last couple of seconds.
Mayor Bradley came out after the court case and suggested people riot. They rioted, the city burned and race relations got worse over a drug addict criminal that was responsible for the mess.
Yes, rather than the fires and death related to King, IMO would have been better had Springer legally ended him before the LAPD tried to help.
