Breaking Up With HealthCare.gov Is Hard To Do
NPR ^ | November 28,2013 | ANNIE FEIDT

Posted on 11/29/2013 5:19:29 AM PST by Hojczyk

Enrolling in HealthCare.gov is not easy, and it's been particularly difficult in Alaska. Just 53 people enrolled

Anchorage hair stylist Lara Imler is one of the few who got through, as we previously reported. "I don't even know how to feel about the whole thing anymore because I can't even get anyone who has an answer to help," she says. "It's just such a lost cause at this point."

So on a recent morning, she sat down in her living room, with her laptop and a cup of coffee to try to resolve her difficulties—but not without frustration.

"I've had to change my password about four times. Oh, you know what, I have it written down. I cheated! There it is," she says.

The site logs Imler in pretty quickly. And after a few clicks she finds her enrollment information.

The application that she finished on Oct. 24 says "Status, complete." Imler clicks on the actual application and scrolls down to an ominous looking red icon that says "Terminate Coverage."

"So you hit the terminate button. It says you've chosen to end the following coverage... you then have to check 'I have fully read and understand that I'm choosing to terminate coverage,'" she says. "Then you click terminate again, and we'll see what happens."

What happens is nothing. The health plan Imler signed up for is still listed in her profile. She logs out and then back in, and it looks exactly the same. She checks her e-mail for a notice of coverage termination and finds nothing there either. Imler leans back on the couch and looks surprisingly calm about the whole thing.

"I'm resigned to the fact that it doesn't work. No matter what I do, it just doesn't work. And this is the improved website."

NPR has been particularly hard on Obamacare. I am shocked because I always thought the were big time liberal.

On foxnews this morning they were commenting how its possible this will collapse and force the nationalization of the healthcare industry. Under the one payer system.

NPR wants single-payer. Obamacare isn’t radical enough for NPR.

-——NPR wants single-payer-—

So does Bob Beckel and Kirsten Powers. They have said so.

The operative problem is the word “payer”. What we have learned is that payment is unlikely. If you get signed up and someone takes you as a patient and renders service, what happens?

What we have learned is that the probability of being paid the correct amount within a reasonable time or for that matter ever is remote. If the abomination is unable to get the patient to the doctor, the likelyhood he will be paid is slim to none.

The coming chaos is unfathomable

Judging from the comments, the libs who read that stuff mostly want single payer National Socialist healthcare rationing.

“Judging from the comments, the libs who read that stuff mostly want single payer National Socialist healthcare rationing.”

The libs want single payer.....for everyone, but unions, donors, crony’s. No different than this fiasco.

It is really cool how this failure of executive government is driving left-wing libs bananas. The single-payer expansionists illustrate this in the comments section.

My Schadenfreude runneth over.

They can’t go single-payer because they no longer (not that they ever did) have the power to make it happen. The Dims are stuck with a FusterCluck that will persist for at least a year, and probably longer. Even supposing that the Senate goes Pubbie in a year, the President will still veto any changes to Obummercare.

Fewer people will have health insurance two years from now than have health insurance today, and the costs will spiral upwards. The newly (and previously) insured on Medicaid will have untimely access to care except through Emergency Rooms.

“Catastrophe!” as the French would say.

Obama pushing single-payer is a pipe dream. W/ all the lies he told to get Obamacare passed, he has zero credibility----not only with we, the people---but with his suckups in Congress who passed this boondoggle.

The cards and letters are flooding Congress as the cancellations mount. "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan," has become the 2014 fight anthem.

NOTE WELL VOTERS: Throwing people off their insurance plans IS NOT A GLITCH--NOT A MISTAKE--NOT AN ERROR--- cancelling existing plans is a FEATURE of Boobamba/Care.

==================================================

Egged on by sap-happy Pelosi. Democrats rammed the monstrous Healthcare bill through on a straight party-line vote and refused to consider a single legislative change---including Mike Enzi's bill to allow Americans to keep their exisitng plans. Now desperate Democrats are frantically introducing “fix Obamacare” bills.

Dims want to separate themselves from their aye votes that they sold to push Obamacare onto unsuspecting Americans------ but they can't.

Republican strategists says ObamaCare “has the potential to be even more potent in 2014 than it was in 2010" (when Repubs took over the House) and that Democrats in competitive seats could see themselves washed out to sea.

Predictions are that the misguided law could get even worse for Dimocrats. “It’s like quicksand. It's sucking people in. And this is just one component. Just wait until the next piece of this law is rolled out,” strategists said.

========================================

SELECTED DEMOCRAT QUOTES:
FROM THE UNEXPURGATED PAGES OF THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD
:

<><> Nancy Pelosi (Dimwit-Calif) famously egged-on Congress to pass Obamacare "so we could see what’s in it.”

<><> Sen Mary Landrieu (Dimwit-LA) in the well of the Senate speaking to voters about their "sub-standard" health plans: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

<><> Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Dimwit-Calif): “I listened to the president and I believed him when he said,' if you liked your plan, you can keep your plan.' I didn’t realize there were all these codicils attached to it."

<><> Pres Barack Obama (Dimwit-Ill): "we fumbled" the healthcare roll out." (Nominated for Understatement of The Century).

================================================

All those loyal Dimocrats applauding the bill signing, who "stood tall" for Obamacare and sold their aye votes, also voted for this atrocity which Obama wrote into the healthcare bill:

DIMCRATS VOTED EN MASSSE FOR THIS

IPAB is an Obama-created fifth branch of govt. government agency (as the con artist turned EPA, the IRS, the FCC, HSS, etc. into the fourth branches of govt).

IPAB (Independent Payment Advisory Board) is the first agency of the “fifth branch” of govt.....composed of hand- picked unelected members appointed by Obama:

1) It will make all important health care decisions by authorizing payment or not.
2) It is not funded by Congress and cannot have its budget reviewed or changed.
3) Its membership cannot be changed by future Presidents,
4) It cannot be repealed by Congress, except for a six month window in 2017.
5) Its decisions are not subject to judicial review.
6) It is not authorized by the Constitution, and is therefore immune to Constitutional processes.

I suggest that even a Wise Latina might find that unconscionable.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Dimwit-Calif): “I listened to the president and I believed him when he said,' if you liked your plan, you can keep your plan.' I didn’t realize there were all these codicils attached to it."

One article on that comment had a great description, saying that "no one realized that there were asterisks trailing behind like invisible fireflies".

don’t forget, Obama is now using “in the cart” as being “sold”....so why should they react to a “Terminate” until they get the number they want ?
