KABUL Afghan President Hamid Karzai accused the United States of launching a drone strike that killed a 2-year-old child Thursday and vowed to not sign a long-term security agreement if similar attacks continue.
In a statement, Karzai said a suspected U.S. pilot-less aircraft fired into a house shortly before noon in Helmand province, killing the child and wounding two women. He said the information was relayed to him by Mohammad Naem, the governor of the province.
Spokesmen for the U.S.-led coalition did not respond to requests for comment. The U.S. Embassy in Kabul referred questions to the international coalition.
Although few details were available Thursday night, the allegations are likely to stoke tension over Karzais reluctance to endorse a plan that would allow several thousand U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan after 2014.
After a year of negotiations, the Obama administration thought it had finalized an agreement with Karzai last week to allow up to 15,000 foreign troops to stay in Afghanistan to train and assist its military.
This attack shows that American forces are not respecting the life and safety of Afghan peoples houses, he said in the statement. He added, For years, our innocent people have become victims of the war under the name of terrorism, and they have had no safety in their homes.

they missed ! Karzai is till standing
He won’t sign .... let the celebrations and withdrawal begin!!!!
AMEN!
Karzai refuses to sign. Good enough bring all our people home now.
Either the Pakies or the Afghans are demanding large cash payments to allow the exit of the military hardware, so we either pay them off and leave on their schedule, or we destroy everything (my choice). Whatever happens, we must not leave anything behind that can be used.
Is Karzai looking for more suitcases money ,he must be a Billionaire by now
Karzai is a Muslim therefore can’t be trusted.
The U.S. has taken more pains to spare innocents than any nation ever and Karzai knows that.
Pull our forces out. They are the only reason that POS is still alive.
F them.
GFY Karzai raghead! Pull our Troops out of that muzzie craphole, ASAP. We’ve wasted enough blood and treasure in 12yrs. And 75-80% of the casualties have occurred under 0muslim’s treasonous watch.
Karzai has demanded and Obama has happily given him the most restrictive ROE imaginable. The result has been unacceptable casualty rates for our troops and other NATO troops. Cut him loose. Get out as soon as practical.
Park it all in a tight group and disable each vehicle. Post warning signs that it will be bombed. Load up the troops and fly them out with a good air defense cap. Send in the A-10s to hit the armour. Then bomb the rest a few times. Head home.
HE has stolen hundreds of millions of foreign aid, he’s is going to abandon the country for Switzerland the minute the Taliban begins to take over again.
>killing the child and wounding two women
You lie.
And how many U.S. troops have been killed by so-called “friendly” Afghan “policemen”? Karzai can go jump off of Mt. Everest in his birthday suit.
Amen. Bring them home and on the way out destroy everything we carried in there or built while there.
Fine. Then the Taliban can eat Karzai as far as I’m concerned.
Say okay ... and watch Karzai spin to the other side so fast, otherwise he’s walking dead man.
Let me see...an Afghan brat getting blown up, on the word of an Arab tribal leader. Hmm, that rates about a 0.8 on the Giveacrap-O-Meter.
Easy fix for this? Broadcast a list of the next 100 people in line to succeed Karzhai. Start with Afghan gov’t members and go down to known big cheeses as far as needed. State that if he does not shut up and accept the deal, he will be permanently demoted and person #2 offered the deal, and so on and so forth as necessary. State that the other 99 have three days to ring up Kharzai and...’influence’...him as much as they think necessary.
