In the year of Obamacare, it’s a fitting end, don’t you think?

The Thunderbolt Org people got this one right again. They predicted destruction not from heat or gravity of the sun, being that comets are not snow and ice but solid rock with electrical charges, but destroyed by solar electrical discharge.

Telescopes saw the giant ball of ice and dust disappear behind the star, but only a dull streamer emerge.

Should read: "Telescopes saw an electrically charged body disappear behind the star, where the immense solar energy overpowered it, reversed its electrical bleeding and shut down its coronal dischaged and tail. Then, as the massive electrical charge continued to force its way into the "comet" the charge built up to immense amounts of energy. Now fully charged with energy, ISON is heading away from the sun and re-forming its corona and tail, possible heading towards a gigantic outburst like we saw in Comet Holmese in 2007. Only this time the comet, ISON, will be directly due north, and only 40+million miles away. Look s like it's going to be a spectacular Solstice/Christmas. Oh and BTW, the real Mayan Calendar end date is December 16 of this year, so the outburst might be then, too."

There, fixed it.

“I haven’t seen a decent comet diisplay since Bennet in ‘69.”

That was good, but Hale-Bopp and Hyatuke(sp?) of the mid-90’s were pretty good, too.

This all happened within a few hours today.

It looks like it was dimming before it went behind the Sun. I wonder if all the material simply burned off rather than being blown apart.

Well, that sucks.
I told my kids that they’d get a show for Christmas.

Not to worry. It is the Destiny, now uncloaked and refueled from the passage close to the sun.

I think this whole "comet" thing is a fraud. I've been alive 50 something years and never seen one that was worthy of my attention. All this hype over nothing. I remember 1973 when I was in the 5th grade and all this hullabaloo was being made over Comet Kahoutek. School teachers made all this fuss about how the Christmas skies would be dominated by this "comet of the century" and us school children would rush home with great anticipation. Then nothing. I remember having a box of chocolates for the occasion and when I found out it wasn't coming, I ate the whole box at once and got sick to my stomach.

Remember the coming of Comet Halley in the 1980s? Absolutely nothing came of that. Then we had Comet Hale-Bopp and the only thing exciting about that was that some moonbat cult committed mass suicide so that their souls could hop aboard the spaceship that was traveling behind it.

I'm beginning to think that comets are nothing but a fairy tale.
