Look, I’m a geezer. Back in the 50’s is when I first heard about Haley’s Comet. I couldn’t wait even though it was going to be ‘86. Then Kohoutek was coming. It was a bust. So was Haleys. Give me one decent comet before I depart this mortal coil.

I was just looking at the latest SOHO image. Looks like a lot of debris to me - no discernible nucleus. If the sun somehow pushed some of it into a lower trajectory, like gipper said, the end of December might be interesting. Then we still have the entry trail earth will go through in January. And then there is the comet that has a VERY close encounter with Mars next year!
Don't give up yet! ;)
