I was just looking at the latest SOHO image. Looks like a lot of debris to me - no discernible nucleus. If the sun somehow pushed some of it into a lower trajectory, like gipper said, the end of December might be interesting. Then we still have the entry trail earth will go through in January. And then there is the comet that has a VERY close encounter with Mars next year!
Don't give up yet! ;)

Point of clarification when I said soho did not pick it up i meant the SDO did not....lol
The SDO totally captures only oxygen related images....
