Israel has been accepted to join the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Maariv reported Thursday. The international body infamous for condemning the Jewish state will now add it to the list of 9 Western states.
The move is a complete about-face for the UNHRC, which in its 5-year history has condemned Israel over 46 timesmore than any other nation in the world.
The UNHRC was also the body that appointed the Goldstone Commissions investigation of Operation Cast Lead in the December 2008January 2009 Gaza War, eventually concluding that Israel had committed war crimes.
While Judge Richard Goldstone rescinded parts of his report in 2011, heavy damage had already been done to Israels reputation following what many view as a highly politicized smear campaign.

Talk about surrounded by enemies! What at total oxymoron: the UN Human Rights Council. The members on this council wouldn’t recognize a human right if they stumbled over it. Israel is the sheep in the middle of a wolf pack.
Wasn’t Ghadafi the leader of the Human Rights Council at some point?
Don’t think so, but two apologists for him were on the UNHRC once, Najat al-Hajjaji and Jean Ziegler.

46 crimes by Israel — though the offenses were imaginary, that number is good enough to lift that nation to the membership standards of the UNHRC. Thanks Olog-hai.

Now that the United Nations has finally stopped condemning Israel, will Jewish-American liberals and the editorial board of the New York Times also end their anti-Israel diatribes?
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
