Wasn’t Ghadafi the leader of the Human Rights Council at some point?

Don’t think so, but two apologists for him were on the UNHRC once, Najat al-Hajjaji and Jean Ziegler.

I don't recall if the dear Colonel Ghadafi was the leader of the UNCRC, but Libya certainly was a member [and still may be, AFIK].

46 crimes by Israel — though the offenses were imaginary, that number is good enough to lift that nation to the membership standards of the UNHRC. Thanks Olog-hai.

Now that the United Nations has finally stopped condemning Israel, will Jewish-American liberals and the editorial board of the New York Times also end their anti-Israel diatribes?
