A Democratic Colorado state senator resigned Wednesday to avoid a possible recall election over a controversial gun control law that led to the ouster of two of her colleagues earlier this year.
Sen. Evie Hudak, who has represented a district that includes Denvers western suburbs since 2008, announced her resignation less than a week before opponents planned to submit petitions to recall her.
Calling the decision difficult, Hudak said she decided to resign to protect the new gun control legislation and to ensure her constituents would not have to pay for a special election.

When has a democrat ever worried about about taxpayer spending?
That’s a Democrat for you. Power and party over EVERYTHING.

The democrats remind me of the mafia. A soldier doing time or taking the hit for the boss.
Frankie Five Angels all the way.
Yes, that one. It took me a little longer but I finally did find it on another site.
That image has all but disappeared, even the one on the original artists website. Obozo’s minions have been scrubbing the web of things that really hurt his image. This is an excellent example.
Unfortunately that is correct for now.
But I can assure you that gun owners and hunters in CO will not forget this.
Correct.
No, she was not concerned about the cost of the recall election. She was told to resign to prevent loosing Dem control in CO.
I guess the first thing they can do is leverage how the Dems work - they will do anything to ensure that the People are not listened to and this move is a perfect demonstration of that fact.
This is a dodge, a political advantage play, and smart for the Dems. They avoid the damaging headlines made in a recall, and they get to pick whatever tool they like to fill the seat. Winner, winner, chicken dinner...
On the upside it also shows that the people of Colorado are Conservative when it comes to their gun rights, and that Dems are losers on this with We the People. :-)
agree totally
