The sensational turn-of-events comes on the heels of another miscarriage of justice in the area that sent Michael Morton to jail for 25 years for killing his wife. He was innocent, as DNA evidence revealed a number of months ago. Judge Ken Anderson in nearby Williamson County, who's prosecuted Morton as district attorney, recently gave up his law license and served a stint in jail - part of a plea bargain for having withheld evidence during the trial. Morton was subsequently exonerated, and DNA evidence linked another man to the murder of his wife and another woman, Debra Masters Baker.

Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg -- who helped to prosecute Tom DeLay and has vowed to pursue charges against him - issued a statement saying that the Kellers would be released because of Dr. Mouw's testimony.

"I agreed that there is a reasonable likelihood that his false testimony affected the judgment of the jury," said Lehmberg, who has recently been in the news due to a drunk-driven conviction for which she served jail time. "The Court of Criminal Appeals will review both cases. No further action or decisions on the case will be made until that review is finalized," she said.

One (of many) interesting documents is what appear to be Twin Liquors records of Ms. Lehmberg’s credit/debit purchases there, from Jan 1, 2012 through date of her arrest in April 2013.

According to these records, during those 15 months, and *just* at Twin Liquors, our district attorney bought:

* 72 bottles of Ciroc Vodka
* for a total of 88.75 Liters, which is
* equal to over 23 gallons of vodka
* with purchases spread out over 7 different Austin Twin Liquors stores (and one in Taylor)
* for a total of over $3,000 in vodka.

Nine of these vodka visits were in the afternoon, before 5 p.m., M-F.

Her supporters and attorney say her driving drunk 3x the legal limit in April was a “one-time mistake”

stemmed from her drunken driving arrest last April 12, after which she threatened and insulted jail staff and asked for special treatment. It was all caught on video tape.

At various points, a belligerent Lehmberg says, “Y’all are going to be in jail, not me.” She demands that jail personnel call the sheriff about letting her go before being booked. “Did you call Greg?” she says repeatedly, referring to Sheriff Greg Hamilton, while behaving like, well, a nasty drunk.

Lehmberg plead guilty to drunken driving (she was nearly three time the legal limit); and then was sentenced to 45 days in jail. She was released for good behavior after serving half that time.

Good video of her at link below...

I'm sure that Ronnie Earle could not care any less about this.

He was a true believer who was willing to do anything to achieve his Democrat agenda goals.

It doesn't matter that Delay's charges were thrown out by a court years later. It only mattered that Delay was removed from the House immediately back then.

To Earle, it doesn't matter that this couple was erroneously jailed two decades ago. It only mattered that he was seen as "doing something," and that Democrats got the credit for it back then.

A note for the soul of Ronnie Earle: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Repent now Ronnie, the Lord will forgive you.

Why aren't the out-of-control, power-mad officials, who abuse their authority, impeached?

GOP Cowardice.
