CBS: Lara Logan, producer ordered to take leave(Benghazi)

NEW YORK — CBS ordered "60 Minutes" correspondent Lara Logan and her producer to take a leave of absence Tuesday following a critical internal review of their handling of the show's October story on the Benghazi raid, based on a report on a supposed witness whose story can't be verified.

The review, by CBS News executive Al Ortiz and obtained by The Associated Press, said the "60 Minutes" team should have done a better job vetting the story that featured a security contractor who said he was at the U.S. mission in Libya the night it was attacked last year

Lara Logan was indeed taken in, but it was by her own network under whose auspices davies' book was published. He lied alright, but it was not under orders. He saw himself a chance to not only make some money, but give himself the undeserved status of hero.
I have posted his original report with his own signature which proves that he lied. He was NOT at the compound, He did NOT climb a twelve foot wall in plain view of the terrorists who just stood by WATCHING him do it without firing a shot. He did NOT break into an alqaeda held hospital, nor did he see Chris Stevens' body.
He did, however wait a year to publish this false information out of the blue, not for obama, but for himself. He is not an American. He was a contractor for Blue Mountain, a British 'security' agency who put the untrustworthy Libyan security people in place at the compound who ran away rather than do what they were hired to do.
I would LOVE to blame obama for this, but for once, it wasn't him. cbs bought this guy's story hook, line, and sinker and only after THEY published the book did Lara Logan go with the story. cbs should fire themselves.

cbs is scapegoating Lara Logan for their OWN folly. Meanwhile, they are trying to get their money back from the lying book tour hero. THEY are the ones who didn’t properly vet the lying pos who tried to make himself money on the backs of REAL heroes like Ty Woods and Glen Doherty. He should rot in hell.

I can’t help but wonder if Lara Logan was set up to validate the “phony scandal” meme the administration has been trying to sell. Has anyone looked in to that possibility?

The good news may be that the “low information voter” may not even catch the controversy over this story; now, they may just have more information about the Benghazi attack.

Because regardless of whether Davies lied or not, the attack still happened and it made major news with the 60 minutes segment.

I think what amazes me is that the Democrats, who criticize conservatives for not using facts, still think Benghazi is a made up scandal created by the Republicans. They wonder where the other witnesses are. It is the hypocrisy that really drives me crazy.

Mesta- Is this so? what do you mean? I’ve not followed closely enough but would have thought this would be prominent if so. Are you saying an affiliate and/or cousin to CBS was the publisher of this book, such LL simply assumed CBS itself should have intervened to stop publication?

I’ve caught publication was ceased but failed to take in who was the publisher.
