I spent yesterday morning in our (unfinished, PITA to get into) attic insulating the pipes to our upstairs bathroom. It's a project I've been meaning to get to for awhile; the pipes are in a likely location to freeze if it gets cold enough.
I crawled out, covered in insulation and likely smelling to high heaven, and Mrs WBill was standing there. She asked me what I was doing. I explained to her that it looks like it's going to be a cold one this year (17 degrees last night, which in the Southeast is like the next ice age) and explained what I did.
She gave me a kiss and said "I love you because you fix things before they break."
Made my whole day. :-)
Awwww!! She sounds like a keeper, and she is blessed to have you too!!! Yayyy for great husbands!!! Sometimes we don’t know how much our appreciation means to you guys! But I do tell him often!!!
I’ve told him that many times, but probably not enough. We always drive older cars with 200,000 miles on the engine not uncommon, but I have to say that only ONCE in 55 years of marriage have any of our cars ever stopped in the middle of the road without any explanation. And that was when (one of the few times in my memory) we had a mechanic (other than my mechanical engineer husband) fix something and he left a tool in the engine!
I used to complain when he would take a Saturday morning to change the oil in the cars when hecould go to Jiffy Lube, but then he explained that he used the oil change as an opportunity to check everything else.
And I’ve had a pile of insulation sitting at the top of the stairs for several months, waiting for my husband to add it to the attic. LOL.
