My point was that you can’t just brandish your weapon to wave them off and you can’t shoot them after you wake-up as tempting as that might be.
I would say down to every man who concealed carries is looking around for potential situations/threats, and ways to avoid them. The guy in Philly simply was not looking at the threat walking towards him, never gave them enough berth to secure his safety and got cold cocked and dropped.
I would think that the time has come to start dealing with these punks in ways that the criminal just-us system will not. They just disappear into the ether.
The problem is that the neighborhoods frequented by this vermin have the most surveillance cameras and you or I would be easily picked out as interlopers by the authorities.

Of course you can brandish in the face of a threat, the law does not say “you pull it, you have to use it”. Who’s gonna report you for brandishing? The perps?
Just like carjacking, after a few of these ferals get ventilated, they’ll all think twice.
