Sarah Palin responded publicly for the first time Sunday on the nasty comments thrown her way by MSNBC host Martin Bashir, who later apologized for saying she deserved degrading punishment.
"Everybody in life takes shots," the former Alaska governor said on "Fox News Sunday." "You have a decision to make when you take a shot. Are you going to become bitter or better? In a case like this, you know, I don't have to accept his words - his vile, evil comments. So they don't have to affect me. I move on and I charge forth."

Palin said if he had verbally attacked someone who's less high-profile - like a child or someone without a vocal platform like hers – only then would the former governor have fought back....

I loved it when she said if anyone wants to call and apologize to her personally, they should soeak to Todd or one of her kids first and give them the message before they get to her, and hear what they have to say about it.
I take it Todd is none too thrilled with marty the basher.

I love her too. But I finally figured out why my 30 year old agrees with the media that she is completely stupid. Sara Palin doesn’t speak like a politician. She forgoes the buzz words and catch phrases. She’s homespun, earthy, and a the true definition of a citizen politician. And the media uses this to paint her as stupid. Sadly, there are a lot of people who buy into this, my kid included.
