To: Alas Babylon!

I tend to agree with you, AB, about the “need” for all the detail on what Bashir meant.

We, conservative sorts if you will, want to be “nice” so much....cause we try to live happy, law-abiding lives...why do they mock us? But your point that so many have not heard all the detail is probably right.

HERE’S the bigger point I’d suggest....Bashir went to all the trouble to go into the detail that seemed so unnecessary. He wanted to paint Palin as some sort of throw-back to slavery days, ok. But all that horrible, tasteless detail....what was that all about?

And don’t forget, what Bashir said, as I have read this past week, is heavily edited or at least perused by two or three people before he goes on the air.

If this is true, those people deliberately and purposefully put out that statement of despicable hatred.

I think somebody got bribed to say it. It was composed by someone desperate to degrade Palin.

I know....Saul Alinsky.

But what Alinsky doesn’t get around to is how all his trickery and deceit does have a time limit. Liars can only lie effectively for so long. While liars will always have the glib gift of lying on their tongues, the recipients of the lies will soon enough stop listening.

Mockery will soon be perceived for what it is.

And don’t forget that pride thing. This regime has been so able to get away with so much for so long that they lost touch with reality. I’d best the bank that they had no idea whatsoever that their lying would come back to haunt them. I’m thinking they were comfortable that they could toss off an incomplete web site with complaints and chuckles over the glitches.

The Palin comment was over the top.

And not a single person lost their job for saying it, very intentionally.

I doubt the slave owner he made an example of all slave owners even existed. He could have used George Washington as an example who offered the slaves their freedom due to overpopulating his plantation and they refused.

Over 75% of slaves never accepted their freedom at the end of the Civil War due to they lived in better conditions than most free men. Where was those examples of slavery?

Like all Marxists, he has to abuse his power to get her to shut up or at least not be taken seriously for fear of Americans hearing the truth.

Pray America is Waking

That bothered me too and really grossed out my wife, so it got me thinking. I don't know if I'm on the right track, but here is a possibility. Martin Bashir is British, but of Pakistani Christian origin. Could there be some real symbolism going on here, related to the Arab customs in the Middle East?

Refer to the Biblical text of 2 Kings 18, the bullying threats by the emissary of Sennicherib, King of Assyria (modern day Syria) against King Hezikaiah and the Hebrew people, specifically...

"26 Then Eliakim... said to the Rabshakeh (Assyrian Commander), “Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand it; and do not speak to us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”

27 But the Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat and drink their own waste with you?” - II Kings, 26-27

Apparently it was the custom of the Arabs of the day to make conquered peoples eat their own waste as a part of the humiliation of being conquered. So, this sort of treatment of the vanquished has a long history in the Middle East.

Was Bashir really threatening and symbolizing more (and in a Middle Eastern way) than he appeared to be saying? Or am I reading too much into this and he simply a crass, lying, Liberal bully who just likes to intimidate women in the worst way and knows he can get away with this on MSDNC?

Either way it's bad and inexcusable in a civilized society.
