Kentucky U.S Senate candidate Matt Bevin beat incumbent Mitch McConnell in a straw poll conducted by the Boone County Republican Party.
The unscientific survey was held at the group's gala on Thursday which featured libertarian speaker Judge Andrew Napolitano among others. Of the approximately 425 people who participated, Bevin won 85 percent compared to just 13 percent favoring McConnell.
Boone County GOP Chairman Rick Brueggermann says it is unclear if any solid prediction can be drawn from the results ahead of the May primary next year, but that members were eager to participate.
"It's not random sampling, but it is sampling of those who wanted to come to the event. We had a full house so there was a lot of excitement. As far as predictions, I dont know how indicative it will be of future results," he says. "But certainly it was a surprising result that it was that weighted."

It’s not like Mitch wasn’t “coached”, as an employee of the people?! He just felt that the people didn’t matter. How many “coaching” sessions by the people need before their Washington faux armor wears off?
God Bless America!
That should give the gobbler something to ponder over this Thanksgiving.
Not good. Now republicans will want to join democrats in their push for a reason to supend elections.
Just don’t make the mistake we did in Indiana and have a Tea Party guy who is unable to take the MSM assault in the Nov election.
Every Senate seat is important, and guaranteed the MSM will be attacking hard in each one.
Excellent. Taking back America from the treasonous democrat fascists and the seditious RINOs county by county works. Get out and vote in your county rows, schoolboards and village councils. Throw all these scum out.
Wouldn’t read too much into it. Boone county is “Bunning Country” and the party faithful there have long memories (and long held grudges against McConnell).
Hey Mitch! Dick Lugar called and said he’s looking for a roommate.
If he had a shred of honor, McConnell would announce soon that he will not run for re-election. After all, 36 years of accomplishing nothing in the Senate should qualify him for the platinum retirement plan that only fossils in D. C. receive from their brow-beaten taxpayers at home.
At least with with Donnelly we have a Democrat who will eventually take the heat for al the failed RAT policies, instead of a Republican, voting like a RAT and taking political cover and pretending to be a conservative.
The response to the evil media when they ask a conservative candidate about abortion and contraception should be that ObamaCare makes the taxpayers pay for those procedures, many against their will. So we don’t have freedom of choice in the matter. And suggest they ask the Democrat running whether he/she thinks it is right to disrespect the religious voters in their state who have moral objections to paying for killing babies. A strong offense is the best defense in these “gotcha” moments.
BTTT
Don’t nobody tell Mitch about Bevin. Mitch just might run over yonder and punch some Tea Party Bully in the nose!
I hope this minion of arrogance, privilege and conceit goes down to the defeat he has so justly earned and I hope he takes as many of his RINO compatriots as possible with him.
That would be perfect..GOP wins the Senate, and McConnell loses the primary...and won’t get to move into the majority leader’s suite...that’ll hurt..
If we win the senate and he stays in power with his McCain/Lindsey Axis of Evil to back him up, we win nothing - NADA.
