Boeing has issued a formal request for proposals (RFP) to 15 locations around the United States that will bid for the work of building its forthcoming 777X jet, according to a source close to the discussions.
Washington state is one of the 15 sites under consideration. The others include both existing Boeing locations and new greenfield sites, the source said.
Boeing spokesman Doug Alder confirmed Saturday that the RFPs were sent out late Friday afternoon and into the evening.

“Can’t see ‘history’ as being a valid reason for Boeing locating there. If ‘history’ is a major qualifier, Dayton is a shoo-in.”
Having a slow night? Maybe you should make a Cheetos run or something? The air would do you good :)
I hear you, I’m a native Californian also and ended up here in SW Washington in my later years because of family.
Should they move they’d be smart to locate it in a RTW state but the existing plant in Long Beach may sway them.
Lots of room there.
There is even an airport on an uninhabited island!
Next, the fact that gov moonbeam brown just raised the minimum wage to 10 dollars per hour in the state they had better quickly realize that it is only the first step to 20, 50, and then 100 dollars an hour minimum wage, so as to "soak the rich" and also generate a true "living wage"
Last quick point (and I know there are others) Frisco and Berkley are I believe both "sanctuary cities" so illegals are pretty much ignored. Which means you can expect to see lots and lots of illegals with forged documents working on various parts of the planes. Watch how quick their reputation goes down the tubes when the various mexican gangs have their people working on the planes and in the industry, responsible for not only work performed, but also supervision and quality control. Add to that when one cartel puts in places to smuggle things or to place firearms caches or explosives to take out any members of other competing cartels and see how long their product remains on the market.
Oh, and the taxes of course. RETROACTIVE taxes. Pounds of them.
I hope you are RIGHT!
Mobile is already getting a HUGE Airbus facility. Or at least according to a very lengthy and interesting article I read about AL while on some Delta flights this summer.
Cant see history as being a valid reason for Boeing locating there. If history is a major qualifier, Dayton is a shoo-in.

I thought it was a nice line, accurate and with a nice dose of snark.
A Pox Upon Seattle and that Indian Twit they elected - and the goonions/commies she supports.
You KNOW the marxist NLRB is going to get involved to make sure the “right” decision is made.
Just Texas alone has 15 locations!
P&W is in Canada.
Think Boeing will get around it because this is “new” plane. There are not moving jobs but rather creating new jobs. Think the Labor Board will not win this one.
Better yet, Boeing will move it overseas. Kiss all those jobs good bye.
Huntsville would be a good location. Lots of engineering talent including a significant Boeing presence, a large airport with an inter-modal cargo terminal with rail access and close to the Tennessee River for potential outsized barge cargo.
The old Kelly Field in San Antonio would also be excellent. Boeing already has a facility on the old Air Logistics Center.
Charleston, which already manufactures the 787 fuselage and has a 787 final assembly line, is also an ideal choice.
Oh, year! Send to San Antonio, where the Hispanic commies rule.
At this point I’d be glad to see Boeing build it in Korea. Anywhere but Seattle. It’s long past time to give those union thugs the finger. Inside the U.S. would be nice, but if they get a better deal overseas... They should go for it.
What AFB was that?
Sure you don’t mean Ft. Worth?
Do they still have the runways at Brooks? Should be some empty space there.
NAS Dallas was technically in Dallas, but surrounded by Grand Prairie. Google the area and look for the long runway sticking out into a power plant lake southwest of downtown.
Thinking about it more - I think Love Field started out as an Army Air Force training site in World War I.
