Look I am not saying it as a dig on Toby. I know he has reasons for laying low. He went to highschool here. Can you imagine the stalkers, weirdos and what have you that would swirl around him?
I hear of people seeing him around town but I never have except when we really needed him. But for him to show up grocery shopping would be problematic for him and for everybody in the store.
I can well imagine the risk. You become a cultural icon, you get all the weird idolatries that go along with it.
Now a real solid Christian could capitalize on the fame to share the gospel with the stalkers.
I’m just observing. We’re all sinners. I can’t complain anything about him that might not be true for me in the very same position, if it were hypothetically possible.
