I love dogs. I train dogs. I use to work with dogs on ranches. That being said I always cringe when I see people completely ignore the fact that they are still a potentially dangerous animal. They completely ignore dog behavior and think very dangerous alpha behavior is cute (especially spoiled little yappy dog breeds). I especially hate seeing people who stage photos with their babies or small children cuddled up with a dog. Sure dogs can be affectionate protectors but they are still an animal and must be appreciated as such.
Take your dog to PetSmart! I had a very good time learning how to train my dog.
And, I own stock! In times like these, invest in Bibles, lipstick, and pets.

Like people? I prefer the dog, as it is far less dangerous, less conniving, and less annoying than the average person. I like individual people; but, being a long-time reader of history, I’ve come to the conclusion that people in general usually fail to make the grade.
If you worked on a ranch, you probably had more respect for the dog, than these “lovers”.
I’ve noticed that “dog people” (a very general term here) are more sappy and stupid with dogs than “horse people” are with horses. Generally horse people are smarter about horses, respecting their ability to kill, essentially, than dog people. Amazing since dogs ARE carnivores with good teeth meant for ripping. Horses mostly just have sheer weight to fear when things go wrong, but no-one seems to fear the ability of an average dog to rip them apart (and obviously it DOES happen!).
Talking on dog fora is like going on a liberal site - you’re scared to death you’ll be un-PC and excoriated. I’m less fearful of offending on horse fora where people don’t have illusions about horses’ behavior and capabilities.
