So far in Mali and CAR the French have used their regular forces instead of the FFL. The 13th actually moved out of Africa to the United Arab Emerites in 2011.
I think that one of the armored-car companies in Mali was FFL.
That is interesting. I always thought the Legion handled this type of action while the regular army defended France.
That must have dealt a death blow to the waterfront bars in Djibouti when the 13th moved out.
