I hope you're staying warm this evening! It's unseasonably warm here - but that will change by Sunday,

I was on ancestry.com earlier this evening and found some new info. My Uncle Jack Dowd had always said he was in the Navy before WWII. I found the record this evening - he was a Yeoman - enlisted - from 1936 to 1940. The story he told me was that he had signed up for Flight School but "washed out." Apparently he was speaking the truth. I'll have to get a request off to the National Archives for records.

We had freezing rain today....it was horrible. Parking lots were sheets of ice, and cars were entombed in ice. Only with great difficulty, and much time and effort, was I able to get home...as it started to snow. But I tiptoed to the library and store on the flatest way home and did my Saturday errands. I don’t have to venture forth tomorrow. LET IT SNOW!!!
